You may see headlines the public transit is wasteful spending. Tell that to the 30,000 plus riders who use the service every day across the Spokane area. Spokane Transit Authority (STA) has been making gradual improvements to the system over the past ten years to modernize the bus fleet, improve service frequencies and route reliability, add more accessible stops, and improve connections across the region. More recently, the introduction of contactless payment has made it easier to pay for rides, and reduced fare programs for seniors, veterans, and those with reduced incomes. Safety improvements have also been rolled out recently with the addition of fare ambassadors on routes. As a regular rider of STA I can personally attest to these changes.
Even if you don't ride the bus, having reliable, extensive public transit benefits all of us economically by reducing congestion and providing a viable affordable option for many to get around the region.
Show your support for public transit by telling the STA Board to add the measure to the next ballot. Fares alone only cover a fraction of funding services. Cooy the URL below for more info and to add your name on a letter to the board.

Happy (First) Anniversary to the love and light of my life. We had a nice weekend involving the fair, a family birthday, brew fest, and a nice steak dinner. I know we'll have many more nice weekends and anniversaries to add to the books!
