Welcome to day 1 of our Copenhagen round-up with Four Magazine and photographer
@signebirck .
Today we visit Restaurant Levi, located at Ny Østergade 24, in Central Copenhagen.
The first thing you will notice when stepping inside, are the mirrored wall decorations, offering trippy, warped reflections of the dining room, which is dominated by wood, chrome, and warm greens.
Opening in 2022, the idea was simple: to create an informal eatery where great wine and seductively good food go hand in hand. Levi is the place for light dinners, quick espressos at the bar, or afternoon snacks and a spontaneous glass during a break from shopping.
Based in curiosity and joy, Chef Gabriele Rizzo continually explores new ideas and ways to push the boundaries. Inspired by the seasons and flavors from around the world, he will source deer from the Royal Forests north of Copenhagen, to delicate Italian flowers, all in the name of freshness and bold flavors. The instincts of a Sicilian Chef run the show.
The space was designed by Johannes Torpe Studios, with Johannes himself playing a key role in shaping the distinctive Levi atmosphere. The design is immersive and full of character - a crucial part of what makes the experience feel special.
The artwork came from a simple, yet powerful, idea Johannes had during a trip. “Sometimes the best creative solutions arrive naturally, and we couldn’t be happier with how it all came together” says co-owner Mikkel Glahn.
The ambition is to keep Levi a happy place, where design and food lovers can relax and have fun.
