On this project, the engineered screed unfortunately “popped” due to incorrect surface preparation before installation. When the substrate isn’t properly prepared, screeds can lose their bond, leading to failures like debonding, hollow spots, or sections lifting.
Because of these issues, the client has now moved away from the screed system and opted for a levelling compound instead.
