Scenography design and curation for this years @muidkiel Milan show at @dropcity_org together with @postlerferguson .
The Future Frames exhibition shows a new approach to traditional woodworking techniques developed by North-Germany-based Design Studio @streev.connects - made possible by their self-developed CNC-machine/software that mills intricate joints. Therefore, they can build complex ramified trusses which require less material than usual, making for efficient material usage.
In collaboration with Dropcity, Studio Streev has developed a customized wooden truss structure to be fitted in one of their tunnels. The essence of the project is about the usage of salvaged wood collected after last year‘s heavy storms by the City of Milan.

Designed for the @mkghamburg , the Rollercoaster is an invitation for the museum’s visitors to frolic around or to ponder about the current exhibition impressions.
The four seats are rotatable and can be moved or even raced along a rail. The table light in the middle of the oval can also be used to charge mobile devices. The mounted classic chairs are a tribute to good design and tie into the permanent design collection of the museum: Ant by Arne Jacobsen, Chair_One by Konstantin Grcic and the Plastic Arm Chair by Ray und Charles Eames, to which a simple round seat of own design is added.

Industrial design is often focused on form, function and usability. But design artifacts especially receive profound meaning when worldly considerations are infused with idealistic world views. So the question is raised: 'How do mundane design objects become sacred? What can design learn from religion, with its admonition for inclusion, tolerance and sufficiency?'
Inspired by the 'Whole Earth Catalog' or the 'Voyager Golden Record', 00X00000 is a collection of encrypted ZIP archives. Each archive holds clues to a hidden password for the next - like a digital scavenger hunt. The reward is a treasure of cultural works, found footage or inspiring essays that all embrace a change in perspective, together with DIY manuals for building ones own design objects out of simple materials, each costing under 5$ to build. The whole collection falls under the Creative-Commons license.

This might be my favorite, together with the bubble bench.
Created during my six months residency @mkghamburg (Apr - Sept 2021). The family of inflatable objects is now part of the permanent collection.

Lamp shade
The inflatable object collection offers an approach to sustainable design (by using only minor amounts of material, which also has been into the the cycle reintroduced waste which can be recycled again) and experiments with new aesthetics through self-authoring means of production.

An essay I have been written over the course of my residency as a designer at @mkghamburg . Made into a book by the graphic designer @jns_fschr who accentuated the text with found footage from the museum archives and the public domain.
