Once when I was a kid, I drew the letters of the alphabet really nicely and gave it to my grandpa as a gift. He liked it, but I remember getting the impression that I was a little old for writing all the letters to be an impressive thing. About 20 years later, I've just realized that learning to draw letters nicely still makes me really happy. I wish I'd had the practice in between but I'm enjoying the journey now.
Just picking different words and working on the fake calligraphy. I know it doesn't necessarily get better every time but I pick up something new each time I try.
