We struck on Friday, raised our voices on Saturday and today we rest, so we can get right back in it tomorrow. Deeply grateful to @vegalteno and the @publictheaterny for the vision that a People’s Protest must extend to anyone and everyone who will show up, whether that be on the steps of The Public Theater or on the Internet.
And I am immensely grateful to @ardengdickson for continuing to document this pioneering moment as @letsgetalltogethernow productions continues its mission of creating live experiences for digital audiences that feel like the next best thing to being in-person.

Ten years ago, I created Broadway’s first livestreamed, interactive concert so that anyone who loved theatre as much as I did could be a part of our community in real time. It was such a challenging decade as I kept chipping away at this idea of #LiveDigital even when no one thought it was viable.
Through it all, I always knew it would become mainstream some day, but I have to admit - Broadcast Directing a live variety show featuring actor and activist @dylanmulvaney that celebrated trans and non-binary folks, reached over 20k people and raised a ton of money for Trevor Project…. was not on my bingo card 😂 Just incredible.
All my love and admiration to: Dylan and @miranda__haymon for leading the room with grace and fearlessness. The ensemble for the creativity, talent and humanity they brought to the show. Our indefatigable leader and one of my all-time favorite collaborators @k8spelman and her associate @evanenannik for envisioning a show that was just as spectacular on screen as it was on the stage. My collaborator and producer @rianpatrickdurham for literally taking care of every little detail so I could focus on directing the broadcast. The Producing team for extending the invitation to be part of this monumental night. And to my @letsgetalltogethernow team - Loni, Rachel, John and Angela at @investinaccess , you are legends of the Live Digital space and quite literally made the impossible possible ❤️

After Broadcast Directing @dylanmulvaney ’s Day 365 Live this week, I've been reflecting on how many incredible folks I've been able to direct in digital work that helps drive more people to attend theatre in-person (awfully important in this challenging time). Aside from our show at the Rainbow Room this week, re-interpreting Oh For A Muse of Fire with my dramaturgical collaborator @awkwardheidiand , filmmaker @marsmilus and sound designer @themightyzq is a highlight of the past few years.
It was super important to me to capture a sense of connectedness between all of these incredible actors even though we were all separated by the pandemic - from Mark in Joshua Tree to David on his roof in NYC. The plea I heard in this speech - to find a muse in a difficult time, for our audiences to imagine and conjure what we could no longer craft for them felt like a thread that sewed us all together.
