New energy has arrived in Thiafoura š¤
This week, the new volunteers from @emlyonbschool joined the team on site to take part in the next phase of the high school construction project.
From their very first steps on the field, they are discovering the reality of the project, the village, the local techniques and the collective effort behind every stage of the construction. š
Over the next few days, weāll be sharing more behind-the-scenes moments, progress on the site and daily life in Thiafoura.
Follow the adventure with us āØ

āPlanting a tree is also planting hope.ā
During the environmental awareness day organized with @nebeday , we spoke with Bruno, director of the Thiafoura school.
For him, initiatives like this help students understand their role in protecting the environment and caring for the land around them.
By planting trees at school and soon taking fruit trees home, the children are not only learning they are becoming actors of change for their community.
Education also means learning how to build a sustainable future.
Thank you again to @nebeday for this inspiring day.

A day of learning, nature and action at the Thiafoura school.
Together with the association @nebeday , the students took part in an environmental awareness workshop focused on trees, biodiversity and caring for their environment.
During the activity:
⢠the children planted seeds in protective tubes that will grow into trees around the school ⢠soon, each student will take home a young fruit tree to plant with their family.
Small actions today that will grow into a greener future for the village. A big thank you to @nebeday for organizing and leading this inspiring initiative.

The project begins with cyclopean foundations, built using local laterite stones gathered from the surrounding land.
This traditional technique allows us to:
⢠reduce the use of cement as much as possible
⢠rely on local materials
⢠build strong and durable foundations adapted to the terrain

Work in progress in Thiafouraās Highschool !
We are using cyclopean foundations, built with local laterite stones gathered from the surrounding land.
This construction method allows us to:
ā¢ā ā reduce the use of cement
ā¢ā ā rely on local materials
ā¢ā ā adapt the structure to the terrain
ā¢ā ā ensure strong and durable foundations
A construction rooted in its environment, designed to last.
Behind every classroom, there are days of groundwork.
Digging, placing, adjusting, building until the foundations are strong enough to support what comes next.

The old roof has been removed, and we are rebuilding it with an improved slope to allow better rainwater drainage š¦

Beginning of the foundations in THIAFOURA !
The first stones are being placed for the future Thiafoura High School.
The project begins with cyclopean foundations, built using local laterite stones gathered from the surrounding land.
This traditional technique allows us to:
⢠reduce the use of cement as much as possible
⢠rely on local materials
⢠build strong and durable foundations adapted to the terrain
Step by step, the future classrooms are starting to take shape.
A school rooted in its territory, built for the next generation.
