Running is the antidote. Run through happiness. Run through sadness. Run through heartbreak. What’s left is the real you.

A Poppin Rich Classic – (In the photo above is a screenshot of my first ever 5K and then my second ever 5K.) Also, I’ll be off all social media until the summer. Definitely going to miss keeping up with y’all, but gotta stay focused. I remember showing up to this race thinking it was going to be a special day. I told DT who was pacing me that I wanted to go out at 6:00 flat and progress down from there. He looked at me and said, ā€œI don’t know, man… it’s pretty hot.ā€ Heat index was around 110 that day. We hit mile 1 in 6:10, and I told him I was done and I meant actually done. He flipped and said, ā€œNo dude, you are not stopping. I don’t care if you have to slow down you’re finishing.ā€ I kept running, and honestly, I repeated ā€œI’m doneā€ the entire race. I crossed the line and I was finished. And here’s the real part: I was disappointed. I felt heavy, out of shape, and mad at myself because I thought I had more to give. But I never stopped to think about this: I should’ve been thankful I had a friend who pushed me through something hard, who didn’t let me quit, even when I was locked in on the result instead of the journey. Fast forward: I trained. Hard. And now, the pace I died at is a pace I can hold for an entire race. And even in my last race, when the suffering hit, I remembered this moment — and it reminded me I always have more to give. āø» Hidden Gem šŸ”ø YouTube: ā€œDr. K – Attachment Theoryā€ This video changed my entire outlook on relationships. Highly recommend.
