Our first outing to Longbridge artisan markets Sunday 3rd May from 11am. Natural skincare, beeswax wraps & candles & the best honeycomb chocolate ever ❤️ thanks to @maddyabtphotography for the amazing photo
Local, natural, beautiful products made with Birmingham beeswax & our honey. We will be with the wonderful @birminghamartisanmarkets on Sunday on Bournville Green - why not buzz over and say hi 🐝😍
Love our new colourful photos? Thanks to maddyabtphotography 💚
It’s bees so cold & wet but our honeybees have been busy & this was in Quinton Birmingham today. They have moved to their new home on our @birminghambeekeepers Association Apiary in Harborne #womenbeekeepers #madeinbirmingham #letitbee
Fab warm day to inspect my colonies after the long winter, so lovely to see how the colonies are doing she’s a gentle queen! 🐝🍯💚#womenbeekeepers #kingsnorton #birminghambeekeepers #madeinbirmingham
These honeybees have started building beeswax comb in the roof cavity- they are telling the beekeeper (me!) that they need more space & by the size of the cells (extra large) I can tell they want the queen bee to lay male bees - drones. ❤️🐝 the season is starting in south Birmingham #birminghambeekeepers #womenbeekeepers
Lots of yellow pollen going into the hive which suggests there’s lots of larvae to feed a good sign. It’s still too early to look in the colony I need to be patient & leave them alone for now! 💚. #birminghambeekeepers #womenbeekeepers #letitbee
Just sharing my favourite honey granola recipe. Perfect for a breakfast treat or to put in a lovely jar & gift to friends. I'm busy sorting our last few orders and getting ready for @birminghamartisanmarkets on Sunday 11-3pm in Bournville. Oh and I still need to finish my Christmas cake... & write some cards.
Hope you love this granola as much as I do & are better organised...🎁💚🍯
Honey Granola
Ingredients
• 3 cups of porridge (rolled) oats
• 1 cup seed mix e.g. pumpkin, sesame, sunflower
• 1 cup mixed berries & nuts
• 1 cup of 50% coconut oil (or sunflower) & 50% delicious local honey
This is a rough guide so get creative! The only thing to remember is to use 6 parts dry to 1 part wet in the mix. Your "parts" can be whatever measurement you want: 1 cup, 1/2 cup, one cereal bowl, etc.
Directions
• Preheat the oven to 180°C or gas mark 2
• Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl
• Add the wet ingredients and mix well
• Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper & spread the granola mix evenly
• Bake gently in an oven for about 40-45 minutes
• Stir every 15 minutes until the granola is golden brown and dry
• Let the mix cool and store in an airtight container. #homemadegifts #homemadegiftsarebest #queenbee #womenbeekeepers #sustainablemarket #shopindependent #lovebrum
