In conversation with @claudiamarieg . Claudia’s work unfolds through layers of texture, presence, and quiet transformation. Rooted in lived experience, her practice moves through devotion, surrender, and a deep reverence for what cannot always be seen. Rather than drawing from the external world, her paintings emerge from inner landscapes shaped by emotion, memory, and moments of reckoning. Her process is intuitive and embodied. Working with earth pigments, tea, ink, and natural elements, she builds surfaces that feel weathered, organic, and alive. Each piece carries a sense of time and erosion, where imperfection is not corrected but honored. There is a wabi-sabi sensibility throughout her work, a recognition of beauty in what is raw, incomplete, and in transition. For Claudia, creation is an act of remembrance. A return to the self, and an invitation for others to do the same. Painting becomes a kind of ceremony, where emotion is transmuted into form and the unspeakable is given shape. Her work does not ask to be understood immediately, but to be felt, slowly and deeply. Themes of rebirth, duality, and inner transformation move quietly through her practice. Strength and softness exist side by side. Dissolution and emergence unfold within the same space. Each piece holds a sense of awakening, of something shifting beneath the surface. Her work often resonates on a deeply personal level, evoking memory, presence, and something almost ancestral. It invites connection not through explanation, but through feeling. At its core, Claudia’s practice is about returning. To the body. To truth. To the parts of ourselves that remain, even as everything else changes. In conversation with @tessabrownart Tessa Brown is an oil painter known for her atmospheric cloudscapes and contemplative landscapes. Her work moves through light, shadow, and mood, creating scenes that feel less like places and more like memories. Inspired by the natural world, her paintings hold a quiet sense of duality. Sorrow and light exist together, offering a feeling of hope and something just beyond what can be seen. Her process is rooted in observation but guided by emotion, allowing each piece to unfold slowly into something soft, expansive, and reflective. Her work has been featured in collaborations with Crate & Barrel and Anthropologie, and in curated collections and designer spaces across the country. At its core, her practice invites stillness. A moment to pause, reflect, and feel. On view with Le Studio at Booth H1 at Affordable Art Fair Austin, May 14–17. 🌹

In conversation with @chandlerhelms.designs ☁️💗. Chandler is a painter whose work is defined by saturated color, sculptural form, and a deep belief in how art transforms a space. With a background in interior design, her practice bridges the environments we live in and the emotions we carry within them. Working on custom-shaped wood panels, her pieces move beyond the traditional canvas. Finished with high-gloss resin and dimensional elements, her work holds a physical presence, something not just seen, but felt through light, texture, and form. Her Cloud Collection introduces a sense of play and lightness. Inspired by childhood memories, these works invite joy and interaction, becoming natural gathering points within a space. At the same time, subtle references to interiors and design history ground each piece in familiarity. In contrast, her Armoured Flower Collection explores themes of resilience and protection. Flowers become metaphors for women, while chrome orbs act as symbols of invisible armor, reflecting strength beneath softness. Her process is both intuitive and intentional, often incorporating leftover paint from interior projects, creating a quiet dialogue between lived spaces and the canvas. At its core, Chandler’s practice is about balance. Between play and protection, beauty and strength, presence and experience. A reminder that spaces, like people, hold both joy and resilience. In conversation with @nottheonefromkansas Dorothy Nottingham is a Central Texas artist whose work is shaped by the quiet tension between femininity and fury. Raised between city life and her family’s pecan orchards, she draws inspiration from the small Texas towns around her and the ways landscape, culture, and expectation shape a woman’s inner world. Influenced by artists such as Marilyn Minter, Sally Mann, Nan Goldin, Francesca Woodman, and Alice Neel, her work explores raw emotion, private moments, and the complexities women are often expected to soften or conceal. Moving between painting and graphic design, Dorothy creates emotionally layered worlds where humor, rage, beauty, and discomfort exist side by side. Her series Giddy Up, Gaslighter! used charcoal and negative space to confront the everyday language and pressures women endure, while Come Closer I Bite explores the contrast between playful femininity and untamed inner strength. Candy-colored palettes meet sharp emotion. Wild animals become mirrors of instinct, protection, and power. Her women feel self-aware, unpredictable, and impossible to dismiss. At its core, Dorothy’s work asks what happens when women stop shrinking themselves to fit expectations, and instead allow every emotion to take up space. On view with Le Studio at Booth H1 at Affordable Art Fair Austin, May 14–17. 🌹

In conversation with @spencerhwelch Spencer Welch is a self-taught, award-winning artist based in Central Texas, where she lives with her husband and three children. Her work is deeply rooted in motherhood, drawing from the quiet, intimate moments of everyday life. Working primarily in figurative and portraiture, she is drawn to the honesty of human experience. Her paintings often reflect life as a caretaker, capturing fleeting moments with her children, while also exploring themes of connection, presence, and care. Beyond these personal scenes, Spencer moves fluidly across subjects, from pets to landscapes to florals, always grounded in observation and feeling. Her work has been exhibited across the country and published in magazines including Reed Magazine and In Her Studio. With collectors spanning from the United States to England and Scotland, her reach continues to grow. For Spencer, creating is both a source of strength and joy. Her work invites us to slow down and recognize the beauty within the everyday. On view with Le Studio at Booth H1 at Affordable Art Fair Austin, May 14–17. 🌹
