My new novel, Beige Gore, is out now via @hellosunroom . The link to buy it is in my bio. The book’s an exploded detective/crime novel that will be recognizable while pushing the genre into different, and sometimes extreme, shapes. It approaches 700 pages and serves as a corroded snapshot of three years of my life. We’d love for you to check it out! I want to thank Jake Stolz and Clare Byrne at Sunroom for their friendship and partnership. This one was a long time coming and I kept everything really close but they trusted the work. Their artistic instincts and talent are second to none and their design for the book is just so sick. Thanks, too, to Patrick and Danny for their encouragement and their writing on the book. Lastly, the epigraph that leads Beige Gore is courtesy of ANOHNI, whose lyrics in a few words accomplished what took me about 200,000. Thanks. BG worldwide. 🦂🌎 📸

New book is on The Storygraph (1) and Goodreads (2) now, if you like to track/rate/review these things. We still have copies available @hellosunroom , LINK IN BIO, they’ll ship anywhere in the world (Jake and Clare if that’s wrong don’t say anything…), it’s always only ever going to be just $20. Thanks for the reception so far, it’s been cool to hear from people. I have something else I’d like to release this month as like bonus content to celebrate the book being out for a few months, so look out for that. Thanks again, we love you, BG Worldwide 👹👹👹👹👹

Year for the ages—got married, put BG out in the world. Thanks to everyone who bought the book so far; if you like it, tell some friends. If I could humbly impart one thing as we exit 2025, it’s that I think you, whoever you are, should start that project you’ve always wanted to start. Or finish the thing you started. We gotta all keep making cool shit. Happy New Year. BG worldwide. ❤️📹🦂🌎

This website doesn’t like the title of my new book, B€ig€ 0gre, out NOW. They’re trying to hide it from you. They are afraid. Don’t let them win. It’s a B€ig€ 0gre world now. They can’t stop it. Read what they want to ban. Link in bio. 📹📹📹🦂🦂🦂🌎🌎🌎

Over on my WordPress (MescalineLunch), I wrote about 10 (+2) films that I watched in 2025 for the first time (or in one case rewatched after many years) *after* finishing writing Beige Gore. The films echo in some way the themes and ideas I was thinking about and trying to convey in writing my book. Link to Beige Gore’s preorder page/prologue in bio; link to the blog is there, too, and here: https://mescalinelunch.home.blog/2025/12/13/beige-gore-precogs-10-films-i-watched-for-the-first-time-after-finishing-the-novel-that-echo-its-themes/ Tease: Blackout (Ferrara, 1997) Demonlover (Assayas, 2002) Evil Dead Trap (Ikeda, 1998) …and a bunch more

Beige Gore, a new novel written/edited by me in 2022-2024, and designed and published by @hellosunroom , is now available to preorder. We’ve excerpted the prologue as a preview (see it and preorder details in the bio link); if you like it, we hope you’ll consider buying the book. In addition to its 680 some odd pages, the first 150 copies come with a movie-style 11”x17” poster (photo 3). I’ll have more to say about the book in the coming weeks; it will suffice to say for now that I’d like to thank Jake & Clare at Sunroom for understanding the vision and being such great creative partners. Beige Gore has been a long time coming. It’s a warped and corroded detective novel but it’s much, much more than that and explores a panoply of troubling and intense but always deeply-felt subjects. We hope you’ll check it out. It’s a Beige Gore world now. It always has been.

Happy fifth (plus 1 month, whoops) birthday to Detective Detective, the experiment I actually managed to finish. I wrote it in a year of uncomfortable clarity just to see if I could. I had no idea what I was doing and all these years later it feels sort of charmingly ramshackle to me now. I’m glad for its reception; I’m beyond grateful for the partnership it spawned with @hellosunroom . We might have something else coming down the road… Thanks for reading 🟧🐴
