Smiljka Jovanović (author of the performance) is a visual artist with a long-standing focus on feminist art. Her practice includes video, performance, painting, and illustration, through which she explores themes of intimacy, power, and gender. In her recent works, intimacy emerges as a space of resistance, opposing its reduction to function and visual consumption. She engages in the deconstruction of pornographic models of body representation, pointing to their reductiveness, emotional emptiness, and violent exclusion of the senses.
Boris Kostić (participant and co-creator in the performance) is an illustrator who, through a stream-of-consciousness approach, explores the unconscious, using markers to record visual responses to processes of self-discovery within psychological, political, and social realities. His work is grounded in the idea of creative expression as a form of therapy, based on dialogue, exchange, and reflection on personal relationships.

SAD NIGHT is the closing event of DAY 2 of Sofia Underground, again focusing on personal and political disappointments stemming from utopias, promises, expectations, love, and identity. We have decided that we do not want to pretend that change comes with a well-written festival text or complex concept. Structural changes require much more than grand conceptual gestures, and a well put together show which are usually left hanging in the air, until it is time for the next one. We focus on the feeling of deep disappointment with the world we live in, something which everyone deals with in their own way.

Nekako se opet sve zbilo u decembru, inače je bilo praznjikavo i dosadnjikavo, pomalo i depresivno u prethodnom periodu, pa je decembar sve nadoknadio. 🎁 Posetio me je pobratim iz Sarajeva sa poklonima 💃 bila sam na odličnom rejvu sa genijalnom drugaricom 🖌 prošla sam kroz vremeplov sa kolegom artistom 🍽 bilo je hedonizma sa najbližima, i najvećeg događaja za nas ove ove godine - Festivala koji se završio neočekivano uspešno i zaličio na pravi Festival, nešto što bih i sama posetila. 📽 Šta reći sem - već planiramo dalje u svim pravcima. 🌟💥
