PERCEPTIONS explores how racist micro-aggressions shape the lived experiences of Black male-read bodies in Switzerland. Developed by Anna Chiedza Spörri, the work reflects on how everyday encounters influence movement, posture, identity, and emotional states.
Drawing from personal experiences, the piece navigates questions of masculinity, stereotype, and self-perception. It examines how strength and vulnerability coexist, and how bodies negotiate visibility, projection, and expectation in social space.
Movement, text, sound, and direct audience confrontation intertwine to challenge perception and expose underlying power dynamics. By reinterpreting and reproducing stereotypes in a critical and performative way, the work opens space for reflection, care, and new perspectives.
