Join us for a candid and inspiring virtual conversation that brings together a dynamic group of women shaping the food world while navigating motherhood. From restaurant kitchens to entrepreneurial ventures, these leaders will share the realities, challenges, and unexpected joys of balancing both worlds. Moderated by Avery Meetre of LRA PR, you’ll hear from the following DC Dames: Kerry Brodie, founder and executive director of Emma’s Torch; Britney Brown-Chamberlain, recipe developer and author of the blog Britney Breaks Bread; Leah Culley, founder & CEO of Sweet Almond, and Johanna Hellrigl, chef/owner of Ama.

Every sip, bite, and bid at this event will go toward supporting our impactful grant program that awards funds to charitable or educational food and hospitality organizations making a difference in the community, and our scholarship program that empowers the next generation of women food professionals. And the venue couldn’t be more appropriate: The historic Whittemore House, which has long been a hub for women leaders.

This one-night experience transforms the space into a curated showcase of Dame-led stations, each highlighting a unique culinary, beverage, hospitality, and creative specialty at the historical Whittemore House is Washington, DC’s Dupont Circle neighborhood.
Throughout the evening, guests will circulate freely among interactive stations hosted by LDE-DC members, enjoying thoughtfully prepared tastings, demonstrations, conversations, and moments of inspiration. From chefs and bakers to sommeliers, mixologists, authors, educators, and food-system leaders, each station offers a personal window into the talent and passion that define our community.
This is more than a tasting, it’s a celebration of women supporting women, sharing expertise, and lifting one another up. Had an amazing time at the @lesdamesintl annual conference in Las Vegas. Lots of takeaways to bring home to the chapter, fun times with the @lesdamesdc delegation, ate some great food @lotusofsiam and @gjelinarestaurant , saw the totally immersive “Wizard of Oz” at The Sphere” and truly experienced the theme “The Power of Connection.” Can’t wait for the next conference! 💕
