And the harassment starts. I did this knowing full well that I would have a target on my back now. If it wasn't an issue, why would he bother to message me something and it be something that Facebook would not allow me to see? Swearing? Sexually explicit pictures? Death threats? When predators get backed into a corner they attack anyone they can't control. Those that are naysayers, remember that!

Miyah LovesKort Rojas is the originator of the first part of the slogan. I created the graphic. Use however you see fit. If you need a ping, svg, or jpeg or resized, lmk and I'll get it to you. Maajaan- command form of s/he is leaving; telling someone to leave

Anyone missing this little guy in Mahnomen? He's over by the school heading towards the football field now. Got a red/orange collar on. Looks to be a pit mix. He's very short and long and has white going down his chest and belly. Didn't let me get too close.

Didn't get the greatest pictures tonight, but boy did we get to see some beautiful lights dancing and shining down on us. 🥰 I've seen them this bright blue and green before up north, but never have I seen them this red with my naked eye before 😍😍😍 Ziigwan was in awe as we watched them. What a beautiful reminder of the wonders of our world and how there are far more greater and profound forces at work. Humans are but of tiny, itty-bitty importance in the larger scheme of things. All this hate, anger, killing, greed, and selfishness doesn't and will never matter. What matters is our place in creation and how we must live in balance and harmony with all of creation. Extremely humbling experience for myself tonight 😊 A reminder to seek the beauty and positivity in all things.

Pro teaching tips. For the review on tests, especially big units, create a Kahoot! challenge, and challenge your students to beat your score. You got the upper hand since you're the one that created it and have taught it for the past 3+ weeks. You also have a desktop and mouse and not a beat up Chromebook. Promise if anyone beats your score they get a $20 gift card for anything they want. They can only try 3 times to make it fare and have to use their real names. You'll have students studying extra hard, and those that might not have cared before, all of a sudden want to. You might have to fork over $20-60 for the semester, but it gets them working! Lol and THEN feed them after the unit lol or have a little themed candy ans movie party or a day or 2 in the gym. You'll know what your group of students like the most. So for my JH students, after we get done with our Manoomin unit, I promise to cook them wild rice how they like it and bring it in for them. In the process, I make sure to make enough for all my classes so they can nibble if they want as they come through. Make sure to note any allergies of students and provide alternative treats. Past couple years they've wanted more savory cream of celery rice and then plain. But this year they wanted parfait style. So I made 3lbs of plain wild rice and had a bunch of things to mix in if they wanted. Then I win over my coworkers and offer the extra to them! Lol that's my teacher tips. Helps give all of us a much needed break from the grind, enjoy some food, and build those much needed relationships. Even my high school students appreciate it even tho they pretend to not lol

Who said this kid could be this cute??!! She picked out her outfit, accessories, hairstyle, and background. And for as girly she is, she still has her nerdy and quirky side. She wanted the cool cyber background cuz she wanted to, "Look like a hacker!" 🥰💓 I love her so much 😭 💗 if you want a picture, we'll be handing them out at the Veteran's Day powwow. It's become a tradition now 😊

For all those wanting to see pics of me at my art exhibit during the opening reception, here's 2 great ones! Of course my mini-me was with and took pictures with me. Everything I do is for her to have something to look up to and be proud of and to have a legacy of excellence behind her. She comes from a long line of brilliant, intelligent, creative, tenacious, resilient, and beautiful people, and I'm so grateful I can add to that for her. It's still sinking in that I have some of my work on display in the same museum as some of my favorite Ojibwe artists like George Morrison, Patrick DesJarleit, Rabbett Strickland, and Jim Denomie. It's insane to think I have made it this far as an artist, but I wouldn't have gotten here without the love, support, and encouragement of my village and community. Chi-miigwech to everyone who has ever done that for me, especially my mom Beverly St John and my mentor Penny Kagigebi 🥰 P.S. peep Ziigwan's photo bomb in the 2nd Pic 🤣
