The depth of the content is so powerful that anyone can interpret it through their own social lens. That’s the beauty of meaningful cinema. Kudos to Krishand for such brilliant direction — bold, layered, and thought-provoking. Rajisha Vijayan delivers a superb performance. She truly stretches her craft and explores every shade of her acting ability. A commanding presence on screen! And what a visual treat by Prayag Mukundan — the colors, the angles, the composition, the visual grammar — simply astounding. Every frame speaks. അരുൺ ബോസ് നിങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സുപോലെ തന്നെ തെളിമയുള്ള ഒരു സിനിമ. മനസ്സിനെ ശാന്തമാക്കാൻ ചിന്തിപ്പിക്കാൻ ചില സിനിമകൾ ഉണ്ടാവുക അതിനു ചിലർ നിമിത്തമായിത്തീരുക എന്നത് ഒരു ഭാഗ്യമാണ്. വല്ലപ്പോഴും ഇങ്ങനെ ചിലതു സംഭവിക്കുന്നത് സന്തോഷം നൽകുന്നു.സനലും ലീനയും (ഉണ്ണിമുകുന്ദൻ & അപർണ ബാലമുരളി ) ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പോകില്ല . രണ്ടുപേരും അവരുടെ ഏറ്റവും നല്ല പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ചവെച്ച സിനിമ. അതിഭാവുകത്വങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാത്ത സംഭാഷണം, സ്വാഭാവികതയെ ഒപ്പിയെടുക്കുന്ന സംവിധാന ശൈലി.മനോഹരമായ സൗണ്ട് ഡിസൈൻ . എല്ലാ അഭിനേതാക്കളും ഒന്നിനൊന്നു മിച്ചം. ഉണ്ണിമുകുന്ദൻ എന്ന നടൻ ഇത്ര സ്വാഭാവികമായി അഭിനയിച്ചു ഞാൻ കണ്ടീട്ടില്ല . അപർണ സിനിമയുടെ താളം നിലനിർത്തി. സലിം അഹമ്മദ് ഈ സിനിമ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്നതിന് നന്ദി.

നന്ദി പ്രശസ്ത മേയ്ക്കപ്പ് മാൻ പട്ടണം റഷീദിക്ക പറഞ്ഞതനുസരിച്ചു ഒരു ജനുവരി ആദ്യ വാരത്തിൽ എന്റെ ആദ്യ സിനിമയ്ക്ക് ചെന്നൈയിലെ ശ്രീനിയേട്ടന്റെ ഫ്ലാറ്റിൽ കഥ പറയാൻ പോയത് ഓർക്കുന്നു. പ്ലം കേക്കും കശുവണ്ടിയും കഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് കഥ കേട്ടതിനുശേഷം ..ഒരു സിനിമ ഇതിലുടേണ്ടെന്നും ..നമുക്കിത് ചെയ്യാമെന്നും പറയുന്നു. എന്റെ മോഹങ്ങൾ പൂവണിയുന്നു . ശ്രീനിയേട്ടൻ നായകനായി പച്ചമരത്തണലിൽ എന്ന എന്റെ ആദ്യ ചിത്രം നടക്കുന്നു. ഞാനൊരു സ്വതന്ത്ര സംവിധായകൻ ആകുന്നു. നന്ദി ശ്രീനിയേട്ടാ നിങ്ങൾ തന്ന സ്നേഹത്തിനും പരിഗണനയ്ക്കും . എന്നും ഫലിതവും ചിന്തയും ഒളിപ്പിച്ചുവച്ചുള്ള സംസാരമാണ് ശ്രീനിയേട്ടന്. ഒരിക്കൽ കോടനാട്ടെ ശ്രീനിയേട്ടന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ആദ്യമായി ചെന്നപ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടായ ഒരു സംഭവം ഇപ്പോൾ ഓർക്കുന്നു. വീട്ടിലെത്തിയ ഞാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് പറഞ്ഞു 'വീട്ടിലേക്കു ദൂരം കൊറച്ചു കൂടുതലാണ് അല്ലെ ശ്രീനിയേട്ടാ ? 'ഒരു ചിരിയോടെ മറുചോദ്യം വന്നു 'എവിടുന്ന് ഇവിടേക്കുള്ള ദൂരം ?' . ഞാൻ പെട്ടന്ന് ഉത്തരമറിയാതെ ഒന്ന് പതറി.

Work-in-Progress (WIP) Lab 2025 The Work-in-Progress Lab 2025 received 50 entries in 14 languages from 7 countries. Of these, five films have been selected, representing three languages, including one India–Australia co-production, ‘Chevittorma,’ and ‘Khoriya,’ backed by Ashim Ahluwalia (known for Daddy, Miss Lovely among others). This year’s esteemed WIP Lab mentors include Philippa Campbell, Sandrine Cassidy, Kiki Fung, Nitin Baid, and Sanyukta Kaza. The WIP Lab provides selected filmmakers the invaluable opportunity to screen rough cuts of their films before an international panel of advisors—including festival directors, producers, editors, and critics—who provide expert feedback to help refine their final cuts. Each project is also paired with an international editor for two dedicated sessions in the Editing sessions.
