We said our goodbyes and spoke our love for David Wood @yellowbirdartscape as we planted a Yellowbird Magnolia by the pond, his grand children placing his ashes around the roots. I first met him in 2012, waist deep in the water fixing a floating illuminated sculpture, and then building the benches in the saina, a cob building by Christina Ott who also built the meditation hut. I got to put a roof on that, complicated by the organic shape of the rounded walls, a feature David had insisted on. I painted the boards six times each for the suspended Fire Flash artwork, and as many times the almost impossible twisted sculptures of 4”wood that needed to appear as if they floated! Our last real project together was the wall of windows in the barn, completed moments before the 2020 pandemic, hosting a drum circle just before the isolation.
Our dear friend then went on to build two more cabins and the 33ft high tower, which i helped Daz'l roof. We never did get to build the Japanese inspired sliding door indoor- outdoor theater on top of the hill. But the dreams that did become sit as a testament to creating the vision and enjoying that wholely.

the 7" haul this year, 130 45s gleaned from the charity shops, car boots and bargain bins across Britain (and dipping into europe). many b list classics that i think is kinda 'sleaze'....that magical late night early morning loose and easy space... a few more recent gems (love the stuff that got single releases even in the 2000s dearth... Hot Chip, Felix da House Cat) some kids records, some 50s rnb (jackie lee 'the duck' and such northern soul bangers,) kids records (the Aristocats!,) synth pop, pop hop, 70s 80s and 90s bubblegum and " love will tear us apart" ...... Lets get dancin'

i have been two months in brighton and have enjoyed the relaxed yet creative feel of the place. i passed these posters on my daily cycle commute to portslade along the sea front. they are by a street art duo called the postman @thepostman_art i am back in london now about to set up the exhibition we have been building since september
The magic of the Alhambra in Granada is something I have longed to see and it is a remarkable place. The gardens with their continuous water flowing and fountains springing, all channeled from a river with no pumps, the stunning architecture, tile work, wood carving and plasterwork which has been recovered and restored from over 700 years ago and the feel of the whole place is transforming.
