Riga finally hosts the event your single socks have all been waiting for: The Riga Sock Exchange!
Last seen in the closet, entwined with its partner, your sock might have been sucked up by a vacuum cleaner, slipped into the lingerie drawer, torn and digested by neighbour's dog, fallen into a sofa crevasse near grandma's teeth or it suffered the classic mysterious laundry fate that has widowed many socks.
If your single sock was anyways bored of its previous partner or it simply looks for a new adventure or something more long term, maybe something out of the ordinary or in fact something quite ordinary. The Riga Sock Exchange is where to go and enjoy a late afternoon of fun with the following program lined up:
- 17h - Sock Dating Show
- 18h - Sock Wrestling (playful sock-game also for sock-owners)
- 19h - Sock Exchange (find other single socks)
You will be guided through the evening by Reinis Ziediņš and Leonhard Horstmeyer. The event will be accompanied by life music. You can enjoy one of our special socktails or some hot or cold beverages from our forest bar "māte nātre".

I'm extremely displeased and sad with a broken artery to invite you to our opening of our microscopic Kino/ Leļļu teātris, at August 9, 19:00, Matīsa 8.
Kàtoptron Teātris is a space where different kinds of artists are invited to converse, interact and create some ceremonial black màgik. The point of our teātris is to obliterate taboos and create brand new ones. Deadlier and Stronger. And then try to take over the world. Reminds you of something? It is a liminal space where artists who are imbued by satire, cynicism, delusions, serenity, diabetes, and wit are more than welcome to leave their bones here.
It's an experimental theater. Tiny, maximum for 9 people. However, additional spaces are inviting you to come by, chat about ideas, maybe relax, drink tea and choke.
Kàtoptron means Mirror in ancient Greek, highlighting the fact that if the theater produces trash quality, it's your reflection.
Soon we will host kino themes of Baltic Absurd Folklore cinema, Objectivism, Searching for Identity, and others.
