Last evening there was suddenly complete chaos in the garden 🫣 The sparrows instantly went into alarm mode — and then I spotted him: this Eurasian Sparrowhawk, perfectly hidden in the bushes, fully focused on the feeding area. Right now, there are young birds everywhere and the parents are constantly bringing food, so the feeding spots are naturally very busy… and that’s exactly what attracts hunters like the sparrowhawk. He probably has hungry chicks somewhere nearby too. As sad as it can sometimes seem — this is nature, and it’s all part of the natural cycle. In the end, he wasn’t successful this time and the sparrows got away safely. Still, it was absolutely fascinating to watch him. The other day around midday we had a proper rain shower. 🌦️ As soon as it eased off, the sun came back out and suddenly everything felt different.
