We’re THRILLED to be bringing author and illustrator JOHN PATRICK GREEN to Jackson!
We’ve partnered with @jackson_academy and the @msbookfestival for a FUN FILLED event and we’d love for you to join us!

We are four days into May and we’ve got some GREAT events this month!! There’s story time every Saturday & lots of knockout Southern writers coming to visit!
CORRECTION: the event for Garrett Ashley will be at 2 pm!
Need a Saturday activity? We’ve got STORY TIME happening at 10am in our children’s section, OZ!
Join us in the morning for a reading of Uh-Oh Hugo written by Jonathan Stutzman & illustrated by Jay Fleck with activities, stickers, and your own scene creations!
Join us TOMORROW at 2:00 for an event with poet Garrett Ashley! Across these poems, Garrett Ashley follows how ecology, lived experience, and history gather over time into what we call home, and into both the natural and built environments we share.
Join us on Tuesday, May 12th at 5:00 for a conversation with Joey Stabile Schewee + Dr. George Patton as they discuss WHEN WORKING TOGETHER DOESN’T WORK!
We are still reeling from the wonderful event last night with Kathryn Stockett and Ellen Daniels! Thank you to everyone who braved the rain and location changes to make this night so special. The Calamity Club is “good old fashion southern story telling” at its best with a quick moving pace and a vivid cast of characters.
We’ve got plenty of signed copies available if you weren’t able to make it, so just give us a call, stop by in person, or order online!
We’ve got storytime EVERY Saturday, but mark your calendars for May 9th where we will be celebrating Eric Carle’s Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? 🐾🐻
Join us TOMORROW at 5pm for a signing with Dan Ellens for his new book, Forest Legend: The Tale of Ol’ Split Toe!
This is a young adult novel, so feel free to bring your young readers along to meet the author and listen to his story!
5/5 UPDATED: LOCATION CHANGED TO MILLSAPS COLLEGE!
We are TWO WEEKS AWAY from the release of THE CALAMITY CLUB by @kathrynstockettauthor !! Don’t forget to join us MAY 6th at the Eudora Welty House and Garden starting at 4:30 for a meet and greet line and a discussion with @msbookfestival director Ellen Daniels to follow.
You can pre-order your book online or in-store, or pick it up at the event!
We can’t wait to see you📚🩵
Thank you to all who came to celebrate 50 years of Lemuria Books!
Authors, family, friends, and patrons. You are what Lemuria is today. It was a day of celebration, reminiscing, and dreaming of the stories still to be told.
Here’s to the next chapter. 📚
Independent Bookstore Day 2026 is approaching and we wanted to highlight some important information about what makes indie bookstores (& Lemuria) so special! Come see us this Saturday…or any other day really! 📚😁✨❤️
p.s. there might be a special Libro.fm prize hidden around the store🤫 (more details to come!)
