I first discovered @abbyasistio 's music back in college, watching her perform in bars—and from the very beginning, Abby inspired me a lot. There was something so powerful about the way she carried herself, not just as an artist, but as a person.
Her courage in openly sharing her journey with alopecia and turning it into a source of strength and awareness to others is something I’ve always deeply admired.
Abby has always supported her fellow women, encouraging them to love themselves through her music. In her versions of "Modern Kundiman," songs she continues to empower women to embrace the best version of themselves and remain true to their worth.
Thank you, Abby, for letting me to be a part of your new era. ✨✨✨

“Good Morning, Me!” is a visual essay I produced as part of my MFA studies for FA 201. This work examines the lived realities of working women—particularly single and working mothers—whose daily existence and mental state are always in survival mode and in the demands of domestic and professional responsibilities, their mental and emotional well-being is frequently deprioritized. This work aims to help shift belief systems, cultivate self-confidence, encourage self-healing, and ultimately support a change in one’s reality.
The mirror is traditionally a symbol of vanity, self-surveillance, and introspection—a surface that reflects appearance or serves as a portal to an alternate self. But what if your reflection spoke kindly to you? What if it affirmed you and helped you heal? And if you don’t believe in yourself, who will?
This repurposed mirror is intended to be seen every morning, when the brain is in an Alpha state (a relaxed yet alert state) offering an opportunity to train the subconscious mind. It reflects the self not as it is, but as it has already made a quantum leap into a new reality. The affirmations and complimenting statements are color-coded to resonate with the seven chakras, supporting emotional and mental healing simultaneously.
The wire-constructed frame is dominated by warm hues, chosen for their association with vitality and movement. Research suggests that exposure to vibrant colors of the 7 Chakras can assist in harmonizing energy centers, clearing blockages, sustaining the flow of Prana, and fostering a sense of well-being. Drawing from years of personal study in Ayurveda, I learned that we have our own healing power.
Words are placebo—they shape and influence our belief systems. Every word we speak carries energy into the world and eventually returns to us. What we believe internally (the microcosm) reflects outward into our reality and the universe (the macrocosm). Whatever we truly believe, manifests.
I never expected to integrate my Spiritual Beliefs, Self healing practices and studies into my art, but the process is truly fulfilling. This work is different from my other practices but I consider this one my most meaningful one! ✨
