THIS is how spacey I am these days...I completely forgot to hype my amazing editor, Maia Kobabe (e/em/eir pronouns). Maia edited the first few drafts of AFAR 2 years ago for Kit Seaton and I. E had an integral part in reshaping areas of the script and also playing the role of sensitivity reader for us.
I first became aware of Maia when I read eir book “Gender Queer.” It was super relatable, educational, heart-felt, and I learned a lot about what it means to be gender queer and what it was like for Maia to grow up with complex emotions and experiences revolving around gender.
Since Maia’s book came out, it’s been on the Banned Book List. I don’t like that! Support banned books! Read banned books! And support those fighting against it!
