Photo Class is Done!
My photo class ended last week. Just wanted to share some highlights. Very proud of what I was able to do in the class. 📸❤️

Photo Class Update:
We got our scavenger hunt projects back. It was our second film project before moving to digital. Had a list of a few things to choose from to find.
1st Photo (and my favorite of the 4): Happy Accident.
The streaks of light look like electricity coming off the power lines. It was actually me bending the negatives when trying to roll them into the reel for development. Just worked out.
2nd Photo: Finding objects that create a pattern.
3rd Photo: Something with political weight.
4th Photo (and my least favorite): A self portrait without “you” in it.
Had a different idea for 4, but overthought it and ran out of time.

Artist Variation Assignment
Our next project is to choose an artist that is a photographer or worked in the medium in some way. We had a list from the teacher.
I chose Barbara Kruger.
She is well known for using text in her work and mixing that text with images to convey a certain message. Her earliest known work started in 1969.
Our goal is to pick one of the pieces, recreate it, and then do our own version or interpretation of it.
I chose “Untitled (Thinking of You)” 1999-2000

Photo 4: Another version I did with slanted text
I basically just took a black circle I had, the other side is a light bounce, and set up a light above and facing the camera. Used my hands. Then in photoshop I cropped the photos, created the border and the font (Futura), and added the red highlight.
She definitely made Futura font popular before companies like SUPREME were even on the scene.
