Breakfast in bed is cute, but this is how you really spoil Mum.
This little mash-up might ruffle a few feathers, it’s somewhere between a Clafoutis and a Far Breton. These two traditional French desserts feature a beautiful silky baked custard-like flan. While clafoutis leans on seasonal fruits like cherries, Far Breton brings boozy soaked prunes to the table.
I’ve used Leftfield Coffee’s Duchess to soak the prunes, the perfect choice with its chocolatey finish and jammy spice notes. Topped with a simple Clafoutis batter to create a silky custard-cake dessert. Topped with a whipped espresso marscapone, this is just so beautiful to eat!
