Awesome gig last night to raise money for the @rnli and @poolelifeboats at my old home, @thekingcharlespoole2020
I got to headline a belter of a line up, alongside @tim.sque.comedy , @itsannbrown_comedy , @billyjamescomic and @amos4043
The audience were brilliant and it was a nice opportunity to thank the RNLI for hoisting me out of the water nearly 3 years ago and making sure I didn't die.

There has been no running water in my flat, in the whole building in fact, for the majority of today and possibly tomorrow...
Apparently someone broke into the pump room or whatever (I don't know, I'm not a water fixer guy!) and cut a pipe and may have done something heinous to the water supply...
Which is fucked up...
Now we've been given these instructions to follow until who knows when. So I can't do literally anything that I would do with the water and the one thing I can do is the one thing I never do. I mean, who flushes the toilet these days? It's 2026 for Christ's sake.
That's a joke. I flush the toilet all the time. Like loads. Sometimes just for funsies.
But... I can't flush the toilet because THERE IS NO RUNNING WATER!!!
Luckily, I do have a balcony, so it's not a huge problem.
Just going to keep my butt flaps crossed that the crohns doesn't rage out of control this weekend.
Wessex Water have supplied everyone with a pandemic times sized supply of bottled water.
This does not help with the whole toilet issue. It feels a bit depraved to start using bottled water to flush turds.
This must be exactly what it was like to live in plague era France.

I want to say that this is me finally performing the tour show that I had to cancel because of a spinal cord injury but the truth is, it's not. I forgot to even to do my opening and closing jokes, I think because I got a little stressed and overwhelmed.
The venue was lovely but the gig was chaos at the start. Drunk incoherent hecklers, late comers, no shows and smashed glasses. This show had the lot. All in the first five minutes.
In hindsight there are many things I would have done differently. Sitting down for one. I spent more energy focusing on literally standing up, than instead of just doing the show.
I was just so determined to do it because it's been a year since the surgery and I wanted to prove that I could do an hour show. If I'm being super critical of myself, it was too soon for this and I'm probably at 50% of what I believe I'm capable of.
Having said that I'm still so happy and proud to have done it. I know I got some big laughs but the second half was much easier than the first. A lot of this material I will never be doing again. Which brings the new challenge of writing and working out a new hour, and honestly... I cannot wait to get back out doing regular gigs again.

Always a great gig at @arundel_jailhouse
The trains were a ball ache getting there and they're a ball ache getting back but it's always worth the trek for this place. Always a fun and packed audience.
Thoroughly enjoyed opening the show and am really happy with how it went. Top MC work from @pottscomedian as usual and a really funny set from @daniel_m_daly , gutted I had to leave before everyone else was on but I didn't fancy sleeping in Arundel train station for the night.
If you want a great night with top comedians then get yourself over to Arundel Jailhouse.

Arundel is famously the home of the Elves, as we are told in the famous historical textbook, Lord of the Rings by J K Rowling... Or J R Hartley, I forget which.
