Hardcore transcends borders: Australian hardcore band SPEED plays in Mexico City for the first time. The openers included Living End (CR), Frito (MX), and Clique (LA).
It feels wrong to post about the show without addressing the state of the world we are living in. The US is currently playing a part in every single global conflict happening. From Gaza to Tehran, Venezuela to Somalia, Jalisco to Beirut... the list goes on. On several occasions, I was warned, "Mexico is too dangerous" and "you shouldn't go". When in fact I'm in more danger entering a US elementary school or grocery store on a Tuesday afternoon. You get fat off of what you're fed, and American media is full of carcinogens.
Being at a hardcore show in another country felt like being home. The unifying factor that breaks language barriers and global tension is music. Because hardcore, and all genres, brings people together from all over the world.
If you read this, thank you. I'm practicing my writing, so honest feedback is appreciated.

Downtown Houston exploring. Went to the Museum of Fine Arts, stumbled upon an Easter fair on a college campus, and ate my weight in barbecue. I love wandering, I love getting lost.

Kat and the Hurricane brought the hurricane all the way from Madison, WI.
A sleepy, rainy Wednesday night at The Garage; a room full of they/thems admiring storm clouds and all rocking Docs. My favorite place to be. Good luck @katandthehurricane at Pouzza fest and thanks for coming through. Also ft @sheilatheband and @grlztoy
