Feeling a little nostalgia today for this project we did back in 2018. Thanks @sugarsounds for the tasty jams.
Maybe I should finish the short we shot in 2021 one of these years…

Until I get my new whatever social media going, here’s something to help offset the end of times:
June Bug has been in my life for a whole year. She’s a goodest dog and I love her.

I started using this app to hold myself accountable to shooting at least one photo a day that I liked, and then that turned into a really lovely way to see what my friends were up to, cheer for their wins, and commiserate in their lows.
Then it turned into where I would exchange sillies, like videos of dudes getting hit in the nuts. And that’s fun but way less about my friends’ lives. Usually.
And then it became where I got hyperlocal news and where causes could be championed. And wow did (does) that fry me out for obvious sky-is-falling reasons.
I’m sick of being part of this tech empire’s game. Part of me is grieving the idea of ending the daily photo project after nearly 4000 days/pictures. The idea of migrating to some other soon to be doomed app stinks. And I do enjoy getting to share something creative without intent of being monetized by me somehow. I don’t think anyone has ever hired me for a job because of what I post here.
I don’t know. I miss a place where it was getting to look at my friends’ scrapbook brains. I miss old tumblr.
I want to spend more time reading and hanging out with my dog on the couch. Less time staring into the abyss of this app. I’m still unsure where to dump my brain’s junk drawer onto the internet, but it ain’t here, it seems.
