Every Saturday at Sainte Terre, Hillary sets the sweetheart table by hand.
She arranges the florals on the plates herself. She picks the napkin fold.
She decides where the orchid sits. And more often than not, she's bought the plates for that wedding specifically ... sourced to match the couple's color story, set out for that one Saturday, and sometimes never used again.
For this wedding, the plates were soft lavender with a watercolor edge. The napkin was the same shade in linen, with frayed edges. The flute was blush. The florals — Leanne's — carried lavender roses, white stock, dusty pink garden roses, eucalyptus, and orchids that almost glowed in the late-afternoon light.
It's a soft palette. Easy to do badly. Hard to do well.
The trick is restraint ... knowing which lavender to pick, which pink to pair it with, which white to anchor it to so it doesn't all read as one wash. Leanne and Hillary know. Every week, every season, every couple's color story.
The best part? The sweetheart table doesn't end on Saturday.
