Taking PTO isn't just good for your soul. It can actually be good for your career. One study found that 10 hours of PTO per month was correlated with an 8% improvement in year-end performance. The data is clear: rest is a competitive advantage. 😎 The catch? Getting there takes a little prep. Save this for your next OOO and send it to a friend who's been hoarding her vacation days. 👇

There are a lot of misleading narratives about women in the workplace, so we’ve turned to the data to decode the myths.🕵️‍♀️ What we found? Some people claim that women aren’t meant to be leaders, but the data shows that when women do lead, they tend to have happier teams and better outcomes. Despite this, women are less likely to be promoted to manager roles, a phenomenon known as the “broken rung.” Did you have good managers or mentors who helped you get your first promotion?

I had the incredible honor of sitting down with one of my personal heroes, @gloriasteinem . From co-founding @ms_magazine to helping generations of women find and use their voice, her impact is undeniable and still unfolding. What part of her message resonates most with you?

The AI revolution is here, but women aren't getting equal support to be part of it. Among those who have used AI at work: → Men are 27% more likely to be praised for using AI → Women are 23% less likely to receive manager encouragement to use AI This isn't a skills gap. It's a recognition and support gap, and it compounds over time into lost opportunities for women. If we want women to thrive in the age of AI, managers need to actively encourage and recognize women's AI use. The future of work shouldn't leave half the workforce behind. Share this with a manager who needs to see it. 📩

Saying yes to everything? That's so yesterday. In her commencement address at Northeastern, @hilaryduff spoke about something women hear too rarely: you don't have to take every opportunity just because it's there. For years, she said yes to every project because that's what "grateful" looked like. But she wasn't building her career. She was reacting to one. So she paused. She stepped back from music — not because she was lost, but because she knew exactly what she wanted and wasn't ready to make it yet. "I took back control of what I was building and I reclaimed my story and I realized my own agency." This speech is a reminder that the most powerful thing you can do as you build your career is to choose — deliberately — what gets your time and your yes.

She's 81. She's 18. They both ran the London Marathon yesterday. These women inspire each other, and all of us, to show up at every age.

The truth is, some women say they don’t want to be a senior leader or a top executive. No, they aren’t opting out — they’re opting for better. They want to build careers, but not at the expense of their wellbeing, relationships, and self-respect. Not less driven, just more intentional. We unpack this in our latest issue of The Lead. Link in bio.
