What is a legacy?
Some say it’s what you leave behind. Others say it’s what you leave for the next generation. Why not both?
For 125 years, that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.
Back in 1899, on the dawn of a new century, no one could predict where we would be today.
From a district that fit in a one-room schoolhouse; to now reaching across 200 sq miles with 48 schools.
From humble beginnings; to leaders in classroom innovation.
We not only have honored the legacy that has been left for us but have set the foundation for those who will come after.
Many things have changed, chalkboards to interactive panels, textbooks to tablets, tuition to free public education for all.
But one thing that will never change is the hunger to learn and the passion to enlighten.
How will we keep that passion alive? How will we help students prepare themselves for anything? Time and again, we have proven that we will rise to meet the moment. And this time will be no different.
Now is the time to change lives for the better.
Now is the time to show the last 125 years have not been in vain.
Now is the time to prove there is more ahead of us than behind us.
One community.
One family.

🎥 🥇 Celebrating award-winning storytelling at Vista Ridge High School!
Student storytellers at Vista Ridge are on their way to national recognition with a public safety message they wrote, directed and filmed titled "Woke Up On the Wrong Side of the Windshield," earned first place and the Best PSA Gold Award in the Streets, Art, SAFE Film Competition.
The PSA, which aims to raise awareness of dangerous driving habits, was praised for its impact and creativity.
This is the first time that a film submitted by Vista Ridge High School’s A/V program placed in the first ranks of any competition. Next, the film will advance to the national competition, where another top finish could earn the team a trip to New York later this year for the national awards ceremony.

For students, by students 🤝
Rouse High School Career & Technical Education (CTE) students visited several LISD elementary campuses to give our youngest learners a glimpse into the opportunities waiting for them in high school and beyond. 👀
By showcasing LISD’s CTE programs through hands-on activities and interactive displays, Rouse students introduced elementary learners to pathways like agricultural science, education, fashion design, automotive technology, hospitality and more, highlighting how students can turn their interests and passions into real-world skills and careers.
Thank you to our Rouse students for helping younger students imagine what’s possible for their future!

🚲 E-bikes are picking up speed in our community.
The Leander ISD Police Department wants to help keep our students and community safe and informed. We encourage families to talk with their students about safe riding habits, including yielding to pedestrians, avoiding distractions and riding responsibly.
Rules on e-bikes can change depending on where you are, so please check with your local area's law enforcement agency to understand how this might impact your student’s commute to and from school.
Drivers: Please slow down and be extra careful in school zones and in crosswalks. A little extra caution goes a long way in preventing accidents.
