Unheard Matter is a short sound exploration series using a Leaf Audio geophone contact microphone to reveal the hidden vibrations inside everyday objects.
In this episode, the geophone is placed on different surfaces: pebbles, an iron bar, a car hood, and a car windshield. Each material reacts differently, creating its own texture, tone, and physical character.

Sound artist and producer Hélo Moondi invites participants to explore the sonic textures of industrial environments through an immersive field recording workshop.
The session begins with a one-hour audiovisual introduction to the practice of field recording — from R. Murray Schafer’s acoustic ecology to Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening and contemporary sound art to electronic music. Participants will discover different recording methods and tools, including contact microphones, hydrophones, and geophones partly provided by the company @leafaudio .
In the following 1h30 soundwalk, we’ll dive into the Kraftwerk of MaHalla and the surrounding factory spaces to explore and record their resonant, mechanical soundscapes together. We are truly excited to share this experience of listening, searching, and recording in such a powerful architectural environment — wear warm clothes & bring a headlamp if possible💡
All participants will receive the recordings made during the soundwalk, along with a curated sample pack. Open to beginners and experienced sound artists, this workshop is led in English.
