Rhys gave us a good little challenge on this turbo LS fj45/80 build. @fj45_soot is a paraplegic and has no feeling from his chest down, so we needed to find a way for him to get in and out of his FJ that he’s owned since he was 15.
The contraption we came up with is a a mix of a @runvawinches winch, a pulley system, 2 rose jointed arms a gas strut and some clever engineering from the LCS4x4 team. This system helps get Rhys in and out of his car with a remote control system that essentially just puts the winch in forward or reverse to lift him up and drop him down with full control.
Not only that, we built the entire car in the full LCS fashion:
80 series chassis, LS1, turbo, 4L80 Trans, @dobinsonssprings suspension, GU Patrol diffs with @arb4x4 lockers, @rcvperformance axles from @roadrunneroffroad a stack of @stedi_lighting lights and @haltech goodies including the Nexus R5 ECU.
All this gear mixed with full steering column mounted hand controls and Rhys at the wheel should make for a fair few grins behind the wheel.

It’s tough for most to see, but that’s the intention. We’ve extended the door, window, cab and even the chassis to make sure it all stays in proportion.

This was one hell of a nice 60 series before we even started, now it’s made even better with the m57n2 and ZF 6 speed out of a BMW. This swap was made possible thanks to our mates at @fusion_fab_industries and @mckinnons_cruisers . We managed to retain the standard bmw ECU and mate it with the @haltech UC10 dash sitting in @the_offroad_lab 3d printed dash facia.
The new owner is going to love this thing, it drives great, has adequate power and now has a whole lot of reliability to go with it.

The Hummer got a few more horses!
@stedi_lighting brought back their H1 civilian Hummer @expedition_h1 for a @harropperformance supercharger.
We previously fitted this H1 with an LS3 V8, happily getting rid of the Chev diesel. Along with the supercharger we ended up giving the vehicle a body lift, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to fit the taller unit ontop of the motor and under the dash/windscreen…. Watch the vid, you’ll see.
This one is a huge laugh to drive but quite a unique experience to work on.
What a trip! Wheeling some of the best tracks with some of the best fellas! Coffs Harbour is a place I had always wanted to drive but hadn’t yet made opportunity. It did not fail to meet and exceed expectations!
Wheeling hard tracks in the pouring rain is a quick way to get to know someone and these guys all busted arse working as a team to push cars through some serious tough tracks.
Good times, cold beers and great memories!
