My work has always focused on history, culture, and the stories that deserve to be remembered. This project was no different, only this time the history was toy history. Through our company, @lbocollective , my partner Steve Forde @goheroofficial and I gained access to the Captain Action license and had the opportunity to sculpt and redesign the toyline for retail release. Captain Action holds a real place in the legacy of action figures. Created by Stan Weston, the same visionary connected to the original G.I. Joe concept, Captain Action helped define the 12-inch action figure era of the 1960s. This marks my first retail toy release, and I’m proud that it connects back to a piece of classic toy history. We also added the first African American character to the Captain Action toyline: Major Action created by Michael Polis @toyman9 History has always been at the center of my work.
