Changes in the park are coming thick and fast as regeneration works continue, including for Sir Joseph Paxton. His 8-foot marble bust was carefully hoisted from its spot near Stone Penge at the bottom of the terraces last week, ready to be lifted in the coming weeks onto a new plinth being constructed at his original home, on the Italian Terraces 🏗️
For those who don’t know, Paxton was the visionary behind the Crystal Palace, which once stood proudly right here in the park. So we thought it was only fair to give him a change of scenery, and he’ll be settling into his new home with a much better view – which is where he was originally positioned, close to the palace itself.

A trader has received a jail sentence following a prosecution and joint investigation between Bromley Trading Standards and the National Trading Standards team. He admitted and was convicted of 18 counts of fraud or theft.
