Pavilion House construction draws to a close, with occupancy permit attained.
From a construction perspective, Pavilion House integrates a number of highly resolved and bespoke elements. The result is a technically sophisticated and finely crafted residence that reflects a strong alignment between design vision and construction execution.
Congratulations to the client, project team and all the subcontractors.

8 months in the making — and they’re finally here.
Large-format double glazed panels, fabricated in Spain and delivered at serious scale:
up to 4.2 × 3.2m and ~750kg each.
Installation called for a Franna crane, spider crane, and expert hands — a highly coordinated exercise in precision, logistics and scale.
Worth the wait!

Garden House by Pandolfini Architects
Architectural statement:
Garden House is a layered architectural intervention that delicately extends a historic home and garden in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. It is a study in contrast and continuity - a heritage home respectfully restored, a sculptural addition quietly embedded, and a subterranean world revealed through light, material and craft. The new addition, while bold and sculptural, presents as a quiet companion to the original house. Rather than competing with the past, most of the architectural intervention descends below ground, creating space without erasing history.

We’re proud to launch the first episode of LBA’s ‘A Series on Concrete’ — exploring the craft behind architectural concrete in high-end residential construction.
Episode 01 features the recently completed Log House, designed by Elida De Felice — a project that pushes both technical precision and material expression.
Save for reference, share with a design-minded colleague, and follow for more insights into our construction process.

A recap of what was a wonderful week of celebrations and acknowledgement to the women who make our world. At LBA we celebrated via a BBQ breakfast at our St Georges Rd, Toorak site, featuring an inspirational speech by our own Michael Krause.
The breakfast would not have been possible without our trades Pointforce, BREC and CLS Melbourne Landscapers.
Separately, we held our own inhouse staff afternoon tea and discussion panel session at the LBA Office.
Panel session hosted by our People and Culture Manager Jess Gesterkamp

Yes, this is real - and yes, we made it.
A bespoke brass-clad entry door delivered in collaboration with
@davidovarchitects and @lba_construction .
While we didn’t manufacture the door itself, the fitment of the brass cladding system and handle were designed and engineered by Formanova from methodology through to final installation.
Each panel was modelled in 3D CAD, refined across FOUR(!) design revisions, then precision cut, folded, welded and hand-finished in a our tumbled brass - but polished further to achieve a more reflective custom finish.
At 2.4m high and 2m wide, the project demanded Attention To Detail - balancing waterproofing requirements, material limitations and design intent at every stage.
Bespoke metalwork leaves no room for shortcuts.
Getting from 95% to 100% means taking the hard road.
