The guys have been working hard at the bakery to put together a few new items. We've focussed a little more on the savoury pastry options this time though the cheesecake danish is a real sweetie. We've upped our brownie game, too!
WE'RE HIRING AT THE BAKERY!!
We're looking for a baker/pastry chef to join us at our production bakery in Armley, near Leeds City Centre.
Our bakery grew out of wanting to supply the cafe with items that really stand out from what’s available in other venues. We specialise in what is known as Viennoiserie and this has led us to growing our wholesale offering to a range of outlets found across Leeds.
If you have a year or more of experience in a commercial bakery and have knowledge of the world of laminated dough and dough sheeters please get in touch!!
Early starts (5am) - so must be able to get to the bakery for this time
Tebirkes - teh-beer-kuhs - very much a "Danish" but possibly not how you've seen one before. Influenced by visits to Copenhagen over the years and a nod to Sam, owner of Copenhagen bakery @bageriet_b , who worked at Laynes in the VERY early days and who has been a helping hand for the bakery, finding its way early on.
Our buttery pastry is formed to hold a sweet marzipan-style filling before being rolled in poppy seeds. Kinda like an almond croissant but with a little extra.
