Our green oasis in Spinningfields is alive and thriving! The vegetation at human scale transforms the once grey all-hard surfacing square into a rich, verdant series of green spaces. This project illustrates what can be achieved in an existing bustling city context, by creating respite and peace in our hectic, always connected world.

Mayfield Park...
We are very happy to have played a part in creating Manchester's first new public park in over a century - we worked closely with the contractor and wider design team to deliver the hardworks, furniture and metalworks packages of the scheme. There is a genuine feeling of joy walking through the park across all seasons watching people and wildlife experience all it has to offer.

Totally Stockport commissioned @layer.studio_ to explore opportunities for increasing greenery across our town centre. Following engagement with local businesses and visitors, it’s clear that more green spaces are something people want to see.
Layer has now developed a masterplan highlighting what is possible and how we make it happen.

Pocket Park Power - Chillingham Road Rain Garden 🌳 🌻
From an empty Newcastle street-end to a vibrant community hot spot! We are excited to share our new sustainable drainage retrofit scheme which has revitalised an empty space adjacent to a busy high street and Chillingham Road Primary School.
The pocket park is now full of rain gardens, tree planting, permeable paving, seating, habitat features, and informal play - offering both the public and the primary school a refreshing green space.
Amazing artwork by our previous collaborator and friend @molly.bland brings the whole space to life!
