Favourite frames from my upcoming short film; ‘Origins.’
Sunset Beach in Dubai, UAE is a bustling ecosystem; nestled between famous landmarks and affording contradictory solace from the madness of the city.
On any given day you will find a huge variety of people enjoying this stretch of sand between two breakwaters. From surfers to labourers, and everybody in between.
My career in photography began here.
I took a camera and a lens, sat on the beach and started shooting. No housing, no tripod, and no idea; I just photographed what I liked.
It only felt right to go back and do it again.
This film is a love story of Sunset Beach, created to reminisce and share the experience of an evening by the water.
Coming soon.

Memories that will stay.
Glimpses of the past; the stories of Manhattan.

As always, heavily inspired by the feel and tone of Vision 3.

Testing equipment means getting out and actually using it, and for me there’s only one place to do it.
Stress test for a vintage cine-modded 50mm that I am looking to build out into a set of primes with feeling.
The flare, bloom and focus fall off all part of this lens’ character, and I love it. Sharp in all the right places, gently falling away.
Thanks to Young Sinatra himself for lending an hour of his time to walk around the local in some of that peak Sunnies light.

Yours is The Earth.
A quiet, reflective Friday evening, escaping the noise.
The question I asked here was how to create an interesting story with a single camera angle, not once moving it.
Mounting the camera on a tripod in the rear of the car, assuming that the car is the operator and the audience combined, and by using a zoom lens to change compositions, we create a flow from beginning to end.
The story of a man tired of the hustle; seeking silence in nature, and remembering that he who holds himself to a standard will inherit the earth, becoming a man in the process.
What do you think? Did the single camera placement work?

Finding peace in turbulent waters.
Under the watchful gaze of an icon the defines this incredible city.
When the world is falling apart, we can always find stillness at the place we call home.

Expressions of New York City.
When deciding what cameras, lenses and film to take to NYC, I very quickly settled on motion picture film: Vision 3 250D and 50D. I took only a 50mm - one f-mount f/1.8 and one OM Zuiko f/1.4 for the OM-1.
We grew up watching, experiencing and losing ourselves in the story of New York. When we first stepped out into the crisp air, on to the bustling streets, it all seemed so familiar; like we had been here before.
I wanted my photos to hold that feeling; almost every shot intended as a story in itself. The colour palette and tones of the Vision3 stock was perfect.
Developed and scanned perfectly by @lab.al.awal .

Episode 4 - The Wedding of dreams ❄️✨❤️
We can’t out into words how perfect the day was. The family that surrounded, the back drop of the mountains with the sun glistening over the top and the love that filled it.
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate and join us in becoming Mr and Mrs O Gara ❤️
The craftsmanship that went into making this could only be done by one man, the artist and our good friend, Max ✨❤️
