Hello everyone! Here's a brief update from us, including projects you might be interested in getting involved in! SLIDE 1: Current projects update! We’ve been busy working away on things already this year - building the network, running a legal clinic, organising our next drag cabaret! Scroll to find out more! >>> SLIDE 2: Critical Queer Legal Clinic We’re working with drag artists and students to make legal information resources to help drag artists. Although we’re starting small, everything’s looking great! These resources will be distributed on social and the Law’s A Drag website later this year. Our next session is online on 14/05/2026 at 16:00 - DM us if you’d like more info about how to get involved! SLIDE 3: Hate crimes cabaret The law on hate crimes has just changed! Under the new Crime and Policing Act 2026, crimes motivated by hostility against someone because of their disability or LGBTQ+ identity will be treated more seriously, with longer sentences and the offence recorded as a hate crime. We’re organisng a cabaret to explain this change in the law, host a Q&A on the new Act and of course showcase the awesome drag in our community, If you want to suggest things that we should do in this cabaret, or would like to perform, click on the form linked in our bio! SLIDE 4: Want to join Law’s A Drag? By joining our mailling list, you’ll be amongst the first to know about our projects and can actively shape the way the network grows and how projects are done! We email about once a month with updates so we won’t clutter your inbox. Sound good? Send us a DM with your preferred email address, or email James on [email protected] to be added to the list!
