1. Touko-chan in her casual jammies and Sensei peace signs in a Hype Williams like photo shoot for the J.A.M Zine Vol. 5.
Initially I wanted to do a Pen and Pixel style southern gangsta Hip Hop collage with various Toukos in different outfits and gratituous graphic design, but unfortunately I ran out of time.
2. A pipe with Touko-chan’s wig for Yearbook project, specifically the Touko-sona gallery.
inspired by a certain iconic surrealist painting, I thought it’d be amusing for the reader to look at various Touko-sonas only to do a double take at a random pipe.
(This is not Touko-chan as a pipe, do not be confused.)
3. Detective Touko-chan blazed out of her bubble pipe also for Yearbook project.
I am contratually obligated to state that Touko-chan does not condone smoking.
4. Birthday Touko-chan with a 10th anniversary cake that I doodled as a commission example.
It’s tradition for me to draw a unique Touko doodle each year, inspired by the TA committee’s commitment to theming each yearly con and designing a special mascot outfit.

I started selling my illustrations at Tokyo Alley 10 Dreamers back in 2022, and 4 years later it’s still my most favourite con! I legit have fans who would specifically go to TA (or any con) for my style, and made my bestest friends there! I’ve always wanted for people to support my artwork, and thanks to TA’s low barrier of entry and local artist emphasis, I had become confident enough to take a big dive: spend a lot of money/resources towards a setup with prints/merch that are hopefully good enough to sell! Despite making a loss on my first ever con, the tightly-knit super friendly artists who are genuinely inspired by art as mucas I am inspired by them makes me look forward to attending every TA from now on.

if you could believe it, my first exposure to the anime is through a newgrounds smash bros parody animation I watched back in my youth (brawl taunts).
there was a scene in which meta knight conjures a overly sized drill to the tune of rah rah fight the power.
safe to say it perfectly conveyed the over-the-top fiery nature of the anime even without knowing the reference at the time. being a trigger fan though, it’s just tuesday.
anime’s still fun to watch twenty years later, and its relentless passion typical of its classic mecha genre is never grating.
since kamina’s bravado is to him not a thrill, but a necessary mask to prevent simon from being scared or hurt;
the fact that kamina never gives up believing on him even in the face of failure and impending doom is enough motivation to keep fighting.
all I’m saying is we all could use a big brother like kamina.
this anime loves its drills. and its reds and blues!
wish yoko is of older age, otherwise I don’t mind her position as an unintimidating fanservice.

two canadian best friends try to book a show at the Rivoli venue with convoluted if not dumb plans (e.g. print a fake ad, sneak in the xmas parade, rob a bank, etc.)
I drew @nirvannatheband the show the movie, already the funniest and my most fav films this 20s.
lotsa outragerously funny gags of Matt and Jay doing stupid stuff in front of an unsuspecting public (how do they keep getting away with it haha)
also lotsa pop culture references that’ll catch you off guard (so many that Matt called it a copyright nightmare to the audience at one point.)
I was actually in stitches at Matt pretending to be Jay’s dream (with an unconvincingly Ghost-of-Christmas-Past voice) as he tries to sneak out.
I can’t help but always draw @jaymccarrol ‘s profile like a beak (his nickname is Bird after all.)
Matt has a perpetual chubby child face. Overall, fun to draw, hopefully I’d like to draw more film fanart!

I drew a t-shirt and live music poster illustration of a polar bear with drip DJing for perth indie cold coffee brewery @pulito109 !
lachlan (the client) reached out to design an illustration to screenprint on t-shirts to sell at an electronic music DJ set he’s hosting at @mojosbarfreo , along with espresso martinis made with his homemade coffee brew.
as an avid electronic music/vinyl record LP, I am naturally psyched to get to draw a cute mascot (orignally designed by perth streetwear illustrator @kodymasonn ) scratching wax like an old-school turntablist, taking inspo from DJ Kool Herc, Peanut Butter Wolf, Kid Koala, etc.

diy it’s ten years since I start sharing my art online? back in jan ‘16 my first post was a comic on tumblr introducing myself as an aspiring fan artist.
or as I like to say … fart-ist.
I was reading alotta Shen and webcomics at the time, so that was my role model for humour, for better or worse (likely the latter.)
since then, my creative journey went downhill from here; no form of raw expression could top me calling myself an artist who farts.
tho there are recent highlights that come close incl. illos of my fav musicians/bands, original comics about my LP collecting hobby and bickering tech-savvy kids, animating visuals for aminé’s tour, raising $700 from artist alleys for medical aid to 🇵🇸 kids, etc.
ten years on, I am inspired to fart some more. and if yall appreciate what I put out, then I did my job well.

Highlights:
Low-key, intimate and affordable, the stall experience is highly refreshing compared to most mainstream conventions that normally place artist alleys as a second thought. Highly recc’d especially for artists selling first-time!
@viryllion was generously handing out so many free buns they got from their job at Breadtop (thanx Sabby, we would gladly pay next time for keeping fed artists who are otherwise too busy to get so much a snack)

when I first saw polyester and polyurethene through preview stills, I initially assumed they’d be twinks, and had always intended to draw them that way.
imagine my surprise first seeing their chippendale/village people transformation sequence. (look at they go from pale scrawniness to suddenly muscular hunks backed by a 90s boy band-esque song, it must be seen to be believed!) the appeal of slender effeminate males is still undeniable, which is why I still depicted their physique that way in their hot cop outfits.
btw, season two is great; the angels are just as hilariously vulgar, and living together with the demons fleshes out their dynamics to surprisingly heartwarming depths, and the balls-to-the-walls animation is still the envy of any aspiring animator. my favs are when brief is reflecting if he’s sexist for preferring panty acting a certain way (read promiscuity) rather than who she genuinely is (even when she’s briefly pure and innocent). and the whole jack-kirby artstyle change episode.

I made an original adventure manga (READ FROM RIGHT TO LEFT!) based on the real-life 2024 crowdstrike outage set in perth (at least the first chapter!)
a tech-savvy brother and sister duo were about to fly back home from coding camp, only for a mysterious outage suddenly shuts down not just the airport but the entire world.
was it a bug? a hacking attempt? find out how Tommy and Kyoko navigate through a world without online connectivity which it is so hopelessly reliant on.
computing has always been one of my biggest interests since my dad taught me as a young lad at his former computer literacy school, and up to this day watching web edutainment videos from LGR, 8-Bit Guy, etc.
so when deciding on what to make a new comic about, I took inspiration from a series of 80s educational comics known as Tandy Computer Whiz Kids that teaches children how useful computers are (even at foiling criminals and helping superman.)
this manga is my love letter to that genre of classroom handout edutainment and computing overall!

I made an artbook about my vinyl record collection!
each day of june ‘25, I would doodle an existing album cover in my own style, and then ask ppl online to guess what the album is (even allowing ‘wrong’ answers!)
these are all 25 doodles of the first LPs I owned, each with:
- their respective guesses by the public (incl. correct answers and cheeky meme answers),
- where, when, how much and what version my LP copy is,
- my personal relationship with the album from when I first encountered it to how it appealed, even shaped my music taste.
all compiled onto a glossy CD-sized booklet made in clip studio paint pro.
this is made as a tribute to the art of the album cover, and its legacy to the public.
the booklet also includes a comic I made about my hobby collecting records (and why) previously published as part of the @westerly.mag ‘s special comic-only issue (Westerly: Graphic Narratives July 2024)
this is potentially volume one of a series of booklets, each with at least thirty more new album cover doodles and usual accompaniment responses/info!

Magdalena Bay, the adventurous LA based synthpop duo, has been a recent favourite listen after falling in love their prog-funk-disco odyssey Imaginal Disk. Cry for Me is the highlight; a soaring disco tune I feel is the best song ABBA never made!
Further compelled by the glistening Y2K meets new-age self help surreal alien imagery, it is why I made an illustration of True Blue alien character played by Mica and the Doctor from their Image music video and tour.

This menace MC is one of my most desired illustration ideas I’ve always wanted to do.
My teen self always thought hip-hop was about African-American youth aggressively glorifying about juvenile crimes they claim to commit i.e. gangsta. Of course this is the opinion of any naïve kid whose only exposure to rap is playing pirated GTA San Andreas on their school Macbook.
Stumbling upon the Madvillainy album with Madlib’s eclectic sampling and DOOM’s effortlessly sounding rhyming mastery made me realize that hip-hop transcends its ‘urban’ connotation and is always a creative medium you can always rely on for inspiration. as an animator-illustrator fearing of receding to bad habits, it’s natural that hip-hop is my fav music genre and DOOM being my fav rapper. You are still missed villain.
