This headboard has been months in the making. It hurt my brain in all the right ways. It’s been done since the beginning of the year buttt then we found out we were moving, so between the process and then the wait to install…it’s satisfying as hell to see this hanging in our new house every single day.
One year ago, @breenblurbs and I were NOT planning on taking home a dog (yet). We walked by a “dog kissing booth” at the Lab with @theranchrescueteam . Joey (then named Freedom) caught our eye. Looking for just a quick pet, we asked to see her. They put her in my arms, she sank in, gave my face a big ol kiss, rested her head on my shoulder and the rest was history as they say.
Life hasn’t been the same since. My heart swells with love for this little fur ball. She’s become my shadow, following me wherever I go. Most times you can find her at my feet, in my lap or in my arms even though she is honestly too big for that and I look ridiculous. And tbh, I think I get more separation anxiety than her.
She falls asleep on the couch, touching noses with @breenblurbs most nights. She completed our little family. Nothing melts my heart more than our beach dates, chasing her through the sand or camping with her squished between our sleeping bags. The last year with her has been one filled with learning and lots of snuggles. Joey was the best, spontaneous (big, scary) decision we’ve ever made. #gotchaday (swipe to see her lil baby adoption photo at the end!)
