As part of their persuasive essay writing unit, our 4th graders wrote heartfelt essays to local businesses sharing just how loved they are in the community. Thanks to the incredible writing of Lucas H. and Leah M., @pizzawagonofbrooklyn and @ohmywhatapeach surprised the entire grade with delicious treats!

For 15 years, Mrs. Duncan has shown up for her students and team with dedication, kindness, and humor. She has a special way of making learning fun and creating a positive environment for everyone around her. Her thoughtfulness, encouragement, and ability to connect with others have made a lasting impact on so many students and staff members over the years. Tea, traditions, and togetherness at the 1st Grade GrandPals Tea 🍵✨
Our first graders loved sharing their studies of Japan with their GrandPals through a traditional tea ceremony, handwritten haikus, origami, and storytelling. It was such a beautiful morning spent with loved ones!
Celebrating Sandy Cohen and 20 incredible years at Laurence! 💚
For two decades, Sandy has been one of the very first people families meet when beginning their Laurence journey. With her warmth, kindness, and genuine care for every child and parent she encounters, she has helped generations of families feel welcomed, understood, and truly at home.
At the end of this school year, Sandy will be retiring after 20 incredible years at Laurence. While we will miss her deeply, her impact on our community will continue to be felt for years to come through the countless families she welcomed and the meaningful connections she helped create. We are endlessly grateful for her dedication, compassion, and the care she brought to every family as our admissions extraordinaire.

So many special moments come to mind, including welcoming new kindergarten families at summer camp, the excitement of the first day of school, celebrating together at WinterFest, and watching students walk across the stage at graduation. Being part of those milestones and seeing families grow within the Laurence community has made each tradition especially meaningful.

The people have always been the best part. From our incredible administrative team, to colleagues who have become lifelong friends, to the many wonderful Laurence families I’ve had the privilege of getting to know over the past 20 years, the relationships built here have meant everything to me.

I’m a huge Snoopy fan, I once owned a Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop, and I was captain of my high school varsity cheer squad!
Our debate team competed at the Golden West Debate League Championship this weekend, where 48 teams and 144 debaters from eight schools battled it out! Three of our sixth graders came home as champions, continuing a streak that has seen Laurence reach the championship finals four of the last five years and win two of the last three.
We are so proud of all our students who competed and Represented the “L” with such articulation and excellence!
Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month!
Our campus came alive at last Friday’s assembly as we honored the rich cultures, traditions, and stories of the AAPI community. Students shared meaningful presentations highlighting the beauty and diversity of cultures from around the world, and everyone enjoyed an energetic Hawaiian dance performance that brought so much fun and spirit to the celebration!
Our faculty and staff had an absolutely SUNsational week on campus thanks to the incredible generosity and kindness of our parents! ☀️
From the sweet treats to the thoughtful surprises, the good vibes were flowing all week long. We are so grateful for all the gifts, love, and appreciation showered on us this week. It truly felt like a little slice of paradise on campus and made Faculty and Staff Week such a fun and memorable celebration for everyone! ❤️
Honoring Mrs. Wolin and celebrating 20 incredible years at Laurence! 💚
Mrs. Wolin has inspired generations of students to build confidence, find their voices, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Known for her warm spirit and constant support of others, she has made a lasting impact on students, families, and colleagues alike.
After 20 years at Laurence and an extraordinary 50-year career in education, she will retire at the end of the school year. We congratulate Mrs. Wolin on her remarkable career and are deeply grateful for the lasting impact she has made on our community.

I love how Laurence celebrates the Total Child and “Keep Kind in Mind” through holidays, traditions, and cultural celebrations that help students grow in empathy and appreciation for the world around them.

The greatest joy of teaching has been watching students grow in confidence, discover new passions, and show kindness to one another every day. Seeing their excitement when they learn something new has made my career truly meaningful.

I love traveling and going on cruises with family and friends, learning new games like mahjong, and enjoying milk chocolate sweets!
A Night in Monte Carlo was one to remember! We rolled the dice, dined, danced the night away, and celebrated the incredible spirit of the Laurence community.
What made the evening even more meaningful was the extraordinary generosity shown by our community. Together, we made a record-breaking impact that will enhance the educational experience of every Laurence student and help secure the mission of the Jacobson Scholarship Endowment Fund for generations to come.
To everyone who helped make this unforgettable evening possible, thank you. We are so grateful and already counting down to next year!
