week 3/4 of FEB cleanse and tonight we celebrating mocktail style while inching closer to the end of this harsh ass but essential month!
I'm actually feeling great but here are some of the many delicious foods that I miss the most.. 🚫_🚫
coffee ~ chocolate ~ beer ~ bread (of any kind!) ~ cheese ~ butter ~ iced cream ~ "regular" milk ~ kids cereal ~ "nightshade" veggies ~ the list goes on and on.. I also miss drinking, eating outside of my own kitchen and having fun, but I keep going somehowz
yes to having extra energy, more clarity and a bunch of other stuff. mostly from eating raw and whole foods w/ fewer late-night treats and other naughty eating habits. they were hard to let go of but are now as good as dead to me! ok, this month at least.
they say it's the inside that counts though, right? I think Loleatta Holloway sang it best, but who knew this whole time that she actually meant your Gut?
yes having a positive mental attitude and kind soul are both great, but match all that with a healthy gut.. and you recycle? rock 🤩 star vibes
Today, firmly in the pro-biotic camp, I do condone trying all this madness to gain energy, clarity and certainly a bit of a renewed spirit as well. after several seasons + reads through the Clean Program book, it has definitely become an annual cult-ish month-long thing for me and I'm happy to share books/sources/recipes with anyone who might be curious..
now put down that delicious looking treat and get back to work 📢 !

one year since David Lynch's passing ( Jan 16, 2025).
At the time, I wanted to share a tribute of some kind and one year on, I think it's even more difficult to sum up the man, his work, art, spirituality, style or brilliance. His films are layered, complex, compelling, deep.. a light and offering of real inspiration in what can often feel like a ordinary or fake or dark and moody reality.
I used to always dig the soundtracks to films esp Lost Highway, Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet but in the past year made it through others I had not yet experienced including Eraserhead, Inland Empire, Wild At Heart.
I even enjoyed his original version of Dune featuring Sting and it seems he always managed to bring equally cerebral music to his many projects. combinations such as David Bowie collaborating with a young Trent Reznor in the early days of Nine Inch Nails. Lynch's original scores and soundtracks are actually how I initially stumbled upon his films, painting, writing, meditations.
Today, I have experienced tm and other life practices he observed and often spoke about. However, there is still so much more to explore... Including these two books that he signed for me on the one time we met here in Los Angeles. It was nearby at the Ebell Theatre on Wilshire Blvd here in Los Angeles after a talk he had just delivered including a moving combination of words, ideas, thoughts, emotions on stage..

I took this shot upon arriving up here (via monorail) just below the main Getty Museum entrance.
It was less than 1 day before everything and everyone around here began to change as fires began to break out all over the city and pretty much any much inspiration I had grasped that day soon began to fade.
I remember so many opposing feelings on both days, from free and awe inspiring to utterly helpless beginning the following day and for many days to follow to start off 2025..

I still hold much hope in my heart that my chosen city will continue to prove it's resilience and not allow it's multitude of institutions and communities to lose their inspiration that is nearby and waiting to be gathered every day and from all around us..
Let's hope that 2026 unfolds in a much better and beautiful way. 🕊️

But.. also WTF was that nonsense and all for what?
or maybe I'm the only one who felt surrounded and distracted by even more tech hype, immense greed, political abuse, over policing and worse..
Ai to me is mostly just a marketing term for sales people to use on par with overuse of the word 'digital' circa 2000 after early tech bros 'solved' Y2K and slowly started to lose all humanity.
question - can we just hit the RESET button already instead of furthering overzealous and potentially dangerous technology which has already been a full on and escalating privacy invasion for most of us?
Or, if it's going to stick, just game-ify our whole entire digital lives already and let's move ON.
2025, you were firey af, burning many of us here on the west coast before dousing ICE all over us amid LOTS of other hateful nonsense, court battles that have already been fought and more human rights violations than you can shake a stick at.
Thanks again for inflating absolutely everything from food to housing to cover charge, keeping us at home more often and harshing our otherwise collective mellow. somehow we held on though and we are still here!
Epstein Island was like watching the worst Survivor series ever but real. Diddy eclipsed Kanye and also might of had a hand in 2Pac's killing according to Netflix. nobody still keeps up with any of the lame ass Kardashians.. now get off my lawn 2025 and let's have a more peace filled year ahead ✌️!
