Dear Lovers, we are oh so happy to be able to start presenting to you a new generation of Laudare songs with the release of our new Single „Of plea and purpose“ today. Here is a small anecdote: In summer last year we played a show in our hometown Leipzig and it was the first time ever that we included „Of plea and purpose“ into our setlist. Right after the show someone came up to us saying: „That new song that you played (meaning „Of Plea and Purpose“) is going to be your hit. Trust me. This will be your hit!“ So lovely, isn’t it? Now let’s make it happen. Help us making it happen. Send it to your friends, post it on social media, just help us spread the word. Every little thing helps. We also want to thank you very much for all the responds to our „Requiem“. We have worked on that album so hard and for so long and your support and feedback after its release was nothing less than cathartic and surely overwhelming. We will also update our Bandcamp Store in the next few days. There will be a new generation of „Requiem“ - Shirts available. And we are playing a tour from Friday on. Catch up on us touring if you can and meet us on the road. We would love that. All the best and take care, Laudare /track/of-plea-and-purpose

HAPPY RELEASEDAY!!! Today is the day, Laudare's newest album entitled "Reqiuem" is out now. Beside the digital version on your provider of choice, there are still physical formats like Vinyl and CD available. Make sure to grab your copy here: Listen to the entire album here: https://orcd.co/laudare-requiem @laudare is all about poetry – in words and composition. The quartet consisting of guitar, bass, drums and cello is cutting its own path, passing by Post and Progressive Rock, Metal, Folk and Neo-Classical Music, yet staying unsettled at last. The band from Leipzig was founded in 2017 and has been playing a vast of shows all over Germany and abroad. In 2018 it released its debut „d.é.o.m.é“ with founding-member Jakob (Ex-Amber, Yanos) playing the drums. The EP „Have Heart, Waste Flesh“ followed in 2020 featuring Jakob as well as Oliver (Wisent, Desitllat) as the new drummer. Also, Almut enriches the line-up by the Cello and her beautiful voice ever since – captured on film and audio for the first time during the Jadeturm live Session in September 2022. It’s been quiet around Laudare lately: a new album is carving its way to the surface. A „Requiem“ about the inevitable, that we fear so much and that makes us human after all. The songwriting is outstanding and a class of its own. The self classification as 'violent poetry' gets clearer with every song. Calm, melodic, spoken word passages as the poetry and harsh and hectic parts, that mark the violent counterpart.

Laudare on May 2nd 2026 at the Hellseatic in Bremen. Whilst preparing for the festival, I had a listen to Laudare and fell head over heels in love with them. Both musically and with their decision to include some Latin lyrics, as they really stand out in the (Post) Metal crowd. The four of them completely won me over live as well. The cello blends wonderfully into the soundscape. I’d also like to give a big shout-out the lighting technician for the atmospheric lighting. #laudare #laudareband #hellseatic #jan_1313_

Throwback: Exactly eight years ago we were heading to Leisnig to record our first album “d.é.o.m.é.” All-mighty @jussi_r_king playing the drums back then, @the.hidden.path recording our lament. Precious memories. What’s your favorite song from the “d.é.o.m.é.”-era?

For Fans of: Opeth, Celeste, Johann Sebastian Bach Text: Sabrina Bläss *** What on earth to do with a Latin diploma? Laudare (Latin: to praise) have certainly chosen an unconventional path: This Leipzig quartet builds its eclectic progressive metal around a core of predominantly Latin lyrics. Enhanced by melancholic cello passages and sublime choral singing, their arrangements evoke a baroque grandeur—only to shatter into countless porcelain shards under blastbeat volleys and screams. The air is thick with the scent of impermanence and candle wax. Laudare need no curtain to conjure images of failed gods and desperate heroes. With sleepwalker’s precision, they chase Johann Sebastian Bach across the fretboard and cradle black metal hooks in velvety cello solos, the distorted urgency in guitars and voices banishing any hint of contrived nostalgia. A dawning suspicion emerges: The same ancient fears and hopes speak through both baroque requiems and modern metal tracks.
