From 27 to 30 December and from 2 to 4 January we’re once again teaming up with FC Hyena, transforming VRR back into a cinema, where we’ll be serving a special menu curated by chef Danny Lee in collaboration with Fook Sing and Sichuan Taste.

‘Tea as ice breaker’

‘Tea as ice breaker’ is a concept specially designed for ‘Sober Clubbing’. Knowing that visitors often arrive solo and some looking for an easy way to connect. We use tea as the social vehicle. Instead of leaning on alcohol, we create a soft, playful moment of interaction: every cup comes with light, conversation-starting questions. Small prompts meant to spark curiosity, intention, and real connection.
By spilling the tea, visitors open up to each other naturally. The vibe becomes warm, where strangers turn into conversation partners and moving on the dance floor feels accessible from the first sip.
Last Sunday at the captivating Koepelkerk.
We were invited by zerøbpm to provide teas that helped calm the mind and create inner stillness, setting the tone for a meditation session musically guided by LATEEF head honcho Tom Trago, that performed among many other great artists.

22.10 – Timing is Everything by KIKUNO
De eerste avond van ADE wordt gecureerd door KIKUNO – een speakermark dat bekendstaat onder de HiFi-aficionado’s. Yuji Tsutsumida is de mastermind en maker van deze speakers, die tevens ook bij ons hangen! Deze avond zal hij, samen met Patrick Keace en DJ Rick als het collectief ‘Timing is Everything’, de speakers bespelen met de mooiste luistermuziek.
23.10 – LATEEF tea experience + music curated by Charles Levine & FSQ
Na de samenwerking met LATEEF vorig jaar smaakte dit naar meer. Met nog meer passie en intentie brouwen we ook dit jaar een thee- en spijspairing bij ons 5-gangenmenu. Muzikaal worden we begeleid door thee- en muziekliefhebbers Charles Levine (Soul Clap) en FSQ.
24.10 – Sake experience by Otemba Sake + music curated by Kuni Mogami
Voor alle sake liefhebbers! Een collab waar zowel wij als vele gasten al lange tijd naar uitkijken. Speciaal voor deze avond hebben wij de Amsterdamse sake-importeur Otemba Sake uitgenodigd om een sake-pairing te verzorgen bij ons 5-gangenmenu. Daarnaast zal sake-expert en vinyl liefhebber Kuni Mogami de muzikale invulling geven aan de avond.
25.10 – Four hands dinner with Sichuan Amsterdam + music curated by 1.06 Music Library
Op de zaterdag van ADE sluiten we de week af met een spicy collab, namelijk met een van de langst bestaande OG Sichuan-restaurant: Sichuan Amsterdam. Op deze avond verzorgen we een ‘four hands dinner’, met een menu bestaande uit klassieke Sichuan-gerechten, gerechten van Café Wu en combinaties van de twee. Muzikaal zijn de dames van 1.06 Music Library aanwezig om ons te begeleiden met zwoele soul, R&B, hiphop en funkplaten.

The first offering in the Lateef mix series
What an honour to kick of the Lateef mix series with a 4 hour mix made by the infamous A Good Christian.
Here are some words from the maker himself ;
When Tom asked me to do a mix for Lateef I was just in the middle of rediscovering the music of Fila Brazillia, their side projects (including music on their affiliated Pork Recordings label) and other music coming out of the second wave of the UK chill-out scene from the mid to late 90’s (they called it trip-hop then, but hey..).
This mix is built around some of those songs, adding to it various bits and pieces, to gel it into a somewhat spacious and otherworldly vibe. Listening back to it I was sub-consciously channelling my days as a teenager hanging out in Amsterdam coffeeshops (the kind where one rather opts for a tea) listening to all kinds of strange and wondrous music. Hopefully this mix sets a gentle mood for a tea ceremony – or two.
