It’s easy to forget the simple ways we can ground ourselves. I find solace in elements, whether fire via the sun or candlelight, air through wind kissing my cheek or deep breath in my lungs, earth through touching clay or climbing a mountain, water through watching the glimmers on its surface or submerged in the tub. I say this to all of you so you may find solace in the days that are coming and in the moments of the past, remember these simple modalities are here for you whenever you need them. I started making candlabras for ritual, to connect back to self and rest. While commodifying my work is sometimes complicated, I offer my work for others to do the same. I, myself, have forgotten the simple act of engaging with element in my daily life and here I am finding them again with the need to share.

Drawing inspiration from mythology, nature, and the unknown, @latch_key creates ceramics that feel both ancient and contemporary. Pieces like Selene II (Photo 2 and 3), inspired by the moon goddess honored only by the night sky, reflect her sensitivity to silhouette, balance, and the expressive potential of a continuous strand of clay.
