From Local Roots to Legends — Wildflower Opening Night Had It All
Opening night at the Wildflower Arts and Music Festival delivered from the first note to the last. Local act Dev Wolf and the Midnight Howl set the main stage on fire with a high-energy set that had the crowd locked in from the start, exactly what you want from an opener. Blues Traveler followed with an absolutely killer set, reminding everyone why John Popper’s harmonica work is in a class of its own. Then came George Thorogood was as entertaining as ever, doing what he does better than almost anyone alive, with Dallas son @jimsuhler tearing it up on guitar alongside him. Between the main stage I also caught sets from Lola Kinsey, the young Texas singer-songwriter blending classic rock and country with a confidence well beyond her years, and Brandon Carr, who brought his own brand of outlaw spirit to the night.
The festival continues all weekend with more incredible live music, food, and art — @wamfest is not one to miss.

Dark Star Orchestra Delivers a Night Straight Out of 1979
🌹⚡️ Last night, Dark Star Orchestra brought the Grateful Dead experience back to life at the Longhorn Ballroom with a full recreation of the legendary 2/7/79 show from Carbondale, Illinois. From deep jams to vintage setlist moments, the room felt like a true trip back in time for Deadheads packed into the ballroom.
Fans got a night built around the music, the improvisation, and the spirit of the Dead — exactly what’s kept Dark Star Orchestra one of the most respected tribute acts on the road.

Rising DFW Artists Take the Stage at Dallas Sounds Amplified Showcase
The Dallas Sounds Amplified Spring Artist Showcase featured 15 artists from this year’s Dallas Music Office Busker Program class, bringing together some of the most promising rising talent in North Texas for a night of intimate, stripped-down performances. Presented in partnership with @farout.dallas and @mullenmullenmusicproject , the showcase put the focus squarely on songwriting, musicianship, and the depth of talent coming out of the Dallas scene right now.
From indie folk to genre-bending originals, the night felt like a preview of artists you’ll be hearing a lot more from in the years ahead.

From Mathcore to Metalcore: Dance Gavin Dance Took Over Dallas
Dance Gavin Dance brought pure chaos to South Side Ballroom last night, with Dallas showing up hard from the first note to the final encore. The Sacramento post-hardcore vets ripped through a stacked set packed with technical riffs, massive singalongs, and nonstop crowd energy.
The gallery also features shots from The Fall of Troy and Wolf & Bear, who helped turn the night into one of the heaviest lineups to hit Dallas this year.

Toadies at the Longhorn Backyard was Pure Magic
Last night at @longhornbackyard was exactly what Dallas needed. 🤘🖤
Leave it to the Toadies to unite every DFW tribe under one Texas sky. Fort Worth’s legendary alt-rock sons returned home behind their first album in nearly a decade, recorded with the late, great Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago. Raw. Analog. Alive. Everything the Toadies have always been.
And the lineup? It was a who’s who under the Texas sky. @vandoliers — DFW’s own country-punk converse cowboys — opened the night with that raucous, fiddle-fired fire only they can bring. @localh brought the Chicago muscle and the muscle memory of why loud guitar rock still matters. And @theblackangels drifted in like smoke, wrapping the crowd in their signature Austin-bred psychedelic haze before Vaden Todd Lewis took the mic and made everybody feel 1994 all over again.
Square toes, steel toes, and every boot in between — all in one place. That’s the magic of the Toadies.

Ashnikko brought the Smoochies Tour through The Bomb Factory and it was nonstop energy from start to finish.
The room was packed with fans in full costumes—leaning all the way into the world she’s built. Heavy bass, sharp delivery, and a set that moved fast without letting up. It landed somewhere between a pop show and controlled chaos.
She pulled from across her catalog, mixing older tracks with newer material, backed by big visuals and a performance that stayed aggressive and theatrical the whole way through.
Royal & the Serpent opened the night with a tight, high-energy set that set the pace early.

The Spring Horizons tour hit The Bomb Factory with August Burns Red and The Amity Affliction co headlining a lineup built to go hard from the start. Both bands are stepping into new chapters right now, and it showed live. August Burns Red leaning into the weight of “Behemoth,” and The Amity Affliction pushing forward with material from their upcoming album House of Cards.
Support from Heavensgate and Boundaries kept the pace up early and never really let it drop.
