Gedling bowls clubs is currently under threat of closure. Without bowls clubs, Lawn Bowls wouldn’t exist, without Lawn Bowls, Icons on the Lawn wouldn’t exist and without Icons on the Lawn, Lasso Press wouldn’t exist ⚠️
Icons on the lawn: 𝓞𝓻𝓲𝓰𝓲𝓷 𝓼𝓽𝓸𝓻𝔂 🔍
For anyone who doesn’t already know, the rubber stamp-style pictograms in the icons on the lawn come from the sides of lawn bowls. They’re engraved so players can tell whose bowl is whose once they’re been mixed together during play.
Most of the images in the book were found by deep-diving through eBay listings and retailer sites, then cut out and cleaned up in Photoshop to turn them into the icons featured in the book.
Here you can see some of the original images from the listings and how they grew up!!
