Why are leagues turning to AI-assisted scheduling?📈
Because the complexity has outgrown manual planning.
There are too many factors affecting scheduling in the modern sports ecosystem. Travel distances, rest windows, broadcast commitments, venue conflicts, and competitive balance, just to mention a few.⚽️🏀
To take all these into account and get scheduling right was basically impossible.
❗️Until AI arrived…
If you want to know more about how it can influence the revenue strategy of sports organisations in practice and the endless possibilities for grassroots and lower-tier sports, this article is for you. Check it out on our website or access it from our story!

It is about what really brings value in the long run
Most of the technology trends fade after the “wow effect”. However, those who reduce costs and drive revenue will stay and create a lasting impact. 🔥
This is exactly how we see innovation at LaSource. Not just as hype, but as measurable business outcomes.
And this doesn’t happen alone. The best technology only works when there is strong collaboration between the builders and their partners. 🤝
🎥 Our co-founder, Samuel Westberg shared our view on this at SportsInnovation at the main stage.
Content has always been the core layer of sport 🔥
But it is changing faster than ever
Not so long ago, we consumed sports from newspapers and radio, and now from 30-second video reels on TikTok. In a few decades, the landscape has completely transformed. 📱
Within a blink, sports organisations are now competing in the entertainment industry. This is why it is more vital than ever to ask how content can help them connect with fans and compete with the entertainment business who threaten to capture them. 📈
A few weeks ago, we shared our renewed mission and vision at LaSource, having worked with different stakeholders in the sports industry. A mindset we have tried to illustrate through our services for sports organisations.
One of these, and a relatively new one, is dedicated to the fast-evolving content and fan engagement models. 🚀
The industry is moving to a 24/7 fan relationship. Content is no longer being distributed, it is designed to engage, retain, and monetise with the goal of bringing sports organisations closer to fans.
👉 This is where LaSource comes in, helping organisations turn this shift into a structured and scalable advantage.
Through our expertise, we support sports organisations: • Define clear content & engagement strategies • Identify the right formats & platforms • Implementing & producing content • Build scalable operating models • Leverage fan data for impact
Because in today’s landscape, content is not just about keeping up with change, but about structuring it and turning it into lasting fan relationships and tangible value ❗
Curious how this can be translated to your organisation? Let’s chat! 👇
Football is changing ⚽
On the surface, leagues are launching apps, platforms, and going D2C.
But the bigger picture lies below the tip of the iceberg 👀
The sport has changed from a rights-driven model to a direct fan relationship with data ownership and content as a core backbone.
And with change happening at a rapid pace, most leagues are just adding new tools on top of old systems, creating more complexity than actual progress by looking for short term solutions.
👉 Technology is one part of the challenge, but no longer the key question in the transformation. It is more like whether organisations have the infrastructure and know-how and capabilities to compete in this new, direct-to-consumer, data-driven world.
This is exactly the challenge we see every day at LaSource, helping sports rightsholders navigate this new, digital-driven world. 🚀
Our CBO, Leander Monbaliu, echoes our ecosystem approach, this time in an article published in the Portugal Football Summit March newsletter.
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. 🚀
But direction and structuring are what set organisations apart.
Last week, we shared our renewed mission and vision, and now it is time to introduce our rethought services for sports organisations. 👀
Over time, working alongside leagues, federations and rights holders, our perspective has evolved.
Not in what we stand for, but in how we translate that into services that create real, measurable impact and growth. 🔥
In today's world, supporting sports organisations means navigating an increasingly complex landscape shaped by technology, data, media transformation and changing fan expectations.
At LaSource, this is exactly where we focus:
👉 Defining how technology and innovation can drive long-term growth
👉 Building digital ecosystems powered by strong data foundations
👉 Rethinking media models, rights strategies and D2C opportunities
👉 Strengthening how organisations connect and engage with fans
Because growth today is not just about adapting to change, but about structuring it and turning it into sustainable value.
Our approach remains the same: combining an insider understanding of sport with a pragmatic, hands-on mindset.
From strategy to execution, our role is simple: help organisations make the right choices - and turn them into reality.📈

What if the most valuable assets in sport….
can’t be measured? 👀
Our CEO & Co-founder, Samuel Westberg, recently joined the Gameday by NJF Holdings Podcast, hosted by Kike Levy, where the business of sport meets bold ideas. 🚀
One of the hottest topics was about Amazon’s presence in Ligue 1, and what it reveals about how value is created and measured in today’s sports industry.
Because not everything that matters can be quantified❗
👉 Beyond audience numbers, subscriptions, and ROI, there are layers of value that are harder to measure:
- Emotional connection with fans
- Cultural relevance
- Brand perception
- Long-term positioning
The real question isn’t data vs intuition.
It’s how well you understand what data can’t tell you.
At LaSource, this is exactly where we operate. 🔥
Helping sports organisations, tech companies and investors not only leverage data and innovation but also understand the broader dynamics shaping the industry's future and turn that understanding into an actionable strategy.
Because in sport, real impact comes from combining what you can measure… with what you can’t.

In a fast-evolving industry, standing still is not an option.🔥
Especially if you are in sports.
👉That's why, from time to time, it’s important to take a step back and look at where we stand and where we are going.
The sports industry is constantly reshaped by new technologies, business models, and expectations.
In this environment, staying relevant means continuously adapting.
Our experience working within the sports ecosystem over the past few years has shaped how we see the industry today.
However, the essence remains the same.
But the way we express it - and the way we help the industry move forward - has evolved.
The industry will keep evolving.
And so will we.

Meet us in Düsseldorf! 🇩🇪
LaSource will be at SportsInnovation 2026 at the iconic Merkur Spiel-Arena.
This event is a great opportunity to bring our mission to life. Bridging the gap between the worlds of sport and technology, two ecosystems that need each other more than ever, but don’t always speak the same language.
Over the past year, we’ve worked closely with leading sports organisations on data, centralisation of services, and spotting trends in tech evolution to shaping the Sports Data Value Chain alongside European Leagues. We’ve partnered with organisations such as DFL and @fifa to help translate ambition into operational progress.
SportsInnovation is where that ecosystem comes together in one place, and we’re delighted to be exhibiting as partners this year
This edition is even more special as our tech partners LiveLike, @usecamb.ai , and @respo.vision , @fastbreak.ai and @ligrlive will also be present to showcase how AI is shaping both performance on the pitch and growth off it. More on this soon!
Our A team of Samuel Westberg, David Gonçalves, Jean-Baptiste Alliot, and Leander Monbaliu will be on site. 🚀
If you’re attending, get in touch or drop by our booth.
We’d be happy to connect 🤝
Big news!
We’re delighted to share that LaSource has been working with European Leagues on the Sports Data Value Chain (SDVC) project 🚀
A strategic initiative designed to help member leagues strengthen control over their sports data and lay the foundations for a shared, future-ready data ecosystem.
As sports data becomes a core driver of commercial growth, fan engagement, and operational efficiency, the SDVC tackles a clear challenge facing the industry today: fragmentation.
The project explores how a more centralised data ecosystem can help leagues take greater ownership of their most critical assets, create the right conditions for innovation, and unlock new, sustainable commercial opportunities.
Since being commissioned by European Leagues, our role at LaSource has been to lead a structured audit and technical design phase, including:
In-depth interviews with 14 leagues (European and non-European)
Establishing a shared baseline of current data practices and challenges
Designing a phased architecture and an actionable execution roadmap
A big thank you to European Leagues and all Steering Group members for the trust, openness, and collaboration.
This project strongly reflects our belief in an ecosystem-driven approach to operating in the sports industry.
