Did you know that every lash goes through its own growth cycle? 👀
Lashes naturally grow and shed through three stages: anagen (baby lashes), catagen (teenage lashes), and telogen (fully grown lashes ready to shed). This is why lash extensions fall out over time, not simply because the glue isn’t strong enough.
Each lash grows at a different speed, just like the hair on your head. Some lashes will grow out or shed quickly, while others grow much more slowly. That’s why regular infills are necessary.
Some clients also naturally have faster lash cycles, meaning they lose lashes more quickly than others. During shedding seasons (usually autumn or spring) , clients may notice they lose even more lashes than usual.
Tip for lash artists:
When applying extensions, it’s best to focus first on catagen and telogen lashes, as they are more stable. Avoid lashes that are about to shed, as applying extensions to them will be pointless.
Once the longer, stronger lashes are covered but the desired volume hasn’t been achieved, start applying extensions to anagen lashes using lighter or shorter extensions. ✨ This helps add density and fullness without overloading the natural lashes.
